Question: Programmatically get font sizes or colors for customization

As mentioned during today's Hallway Hangout, when customizing available font sizes or colors, the filter needs to use the exact existing values from the theme.json. I'm presuming that if they don't match, there will be problems.

Therefore, I'm wondering if it's a better approach to get the full list of font-sizes (or colors) and then either filter them to produce an array only containing the values wanted. If that was done by filtering by slug, for instance, then changes to the font size values in theme.json wouldn't have to be duplicated in any settings filter code.

I hope that's clear.

Example Request: Target Block Editor

One request from multiple attendees at today's Hallway Hangout was the ability to differentiate the settings and blocks available in the Site Editor vs. the Block Editor. It would be awesome to have an example showing how to do that.

For instance:

  • Only show the Site Title block in the Site Editor
  • Allow Custom Colors only in the Site Editor
  • Allow H1 only in the Site Editor
