The Chicago Art Navigator is a mobile application developed with React Native and TypeScript. It allows users to seamlessly explore the Art Institute of Chicago's art collection. The app features an intuitive interface for browsing artworks, detailed views of each piece, and the functionality to save favorites for quick access.

1. Clone the Repository

   • Clone the project to your local machine using git clone https://github.com/ncoen97/chicago-art-navigator.git.

2. Install Dependencies

   • Navigate to the project directory and run npm install or yarn install to install all necessary dependencies.

3. Running the App

   • Start the app by running npx expo start.
   • This will launch the Metro Bundler, offering options to run the app on an iOS or Android simulator, or on a physical device using the QR code.

• Artwork Browsing: Users can navigate through the catalog, viewing thumbnails and brief descriptions on the main screen.
• Detailed Artwork View: Access in-depth information about each artwork, including high-quality images, artist details, and historical context.
• Favorites: Save and manage favorite artworks, accessible even offline.
• Search and Filter: Efficiently find artworks using search functionality and filters.
• Push Notifications: Receive updates about new artworks and exhibitions (optional).

• Utilize the navigation to move between the main catalog, favorites, and additional features.
• Explore detailed views by selecting any artwork thumbnail.
• Manage favorites and app settings through an intuitive user interface.
