Description

The Chicago Art Navigator is a mobile application developed with React Native and TypeScript. It allows users to seamlessly explore the Art Institute of Chicago's art collection. The app features an intuitive interface for browsing artworks, detailed views of each piece, and the functionality to save favorites for quick access.

Installation and Setup

Prerequisites

  • Node.js
  • npm or Yarn
  • Expo CLI

Steps

  1. Clone the Repository

    • Clone the project to your local machine using git clone https://github.com/ncoen97/chicago-art-navigator.git.
  2. Install Dependencies

    • Navigate to the project directory and run npm install or yarn install to install all necessary dependencies.
  3. Running the App

    • Start the app by running npx expo start.
    • This will launch the Metro Bundler, offering options to run the app on an iOS or Android simulator, or on a physical device using the QR code.
