Use some kind of JS front-end, with XHR polling, websockets or something like that to avoid frequent full page reloads to keep the widget up-to-date.

Use a scrolling marquee animation or something when the text is longer than the space available.

The 404 response isn't actually implemented correctly. resulting in a hung connection. Possible solutions:

res.status(404).send("Not Found");
res.redirect("/images/default.png");

I think I'd actually like to redirect to a default image, but I need to find or make some artwork for that.

Entities - like & - are being double-escaped in song titles.

I think this is because the XML parser is not handling them properly.
