Not sure I see much point in this. It's hard to say for sure because rid source code is not public, but I am under the impression that it uses FFI to call the rust code. That wouldn't work very well in NativeShell, since it would require us to manually juggle things between UI and platform thread. Platform channels to this transparently. As for the model, on rust side NativeShell is using serde to transparently serialize/deserialize objects. On dart side this is done manually, but it's very straightforward and not something I've ever felt was problematic.
