I have music in ~/Music as well as ~/Downloads and ~/Desktop sometimes.

When you slide the switch to Off, the "x local tracks known to Playdar" and [Demos…] button line fade out and flash back in once before the final proper fade out.

This probably needs clarifying along with the text above.

The first thing I did was check the menubar checkbox, then turned on Playdar via the menubar. The toggle in the prefpane slides on, but scan doesn't happen.

Playdar won't "search further afield" by default. People will inevitably ask what this means. I'm happy to have a stab at rewriting this. Will post a comment here later.

Should look at this for the "Show config file" button since Playdar does by default.

I have an external drive with a load of songs on, traveling for Christmas I've taken this with me and allowed playdar on my laptop to scan it for festive tune playing. Now I don't know how to un-list those tracks!

If I select my laptop's music folder from the drop down the prefpane scans the tracks there (~200 tracks) but still lists the ~8000 that were available when the external drive was scanned.

Its a bit of an obscure bug, but I'm wondering if songs you remove from your HD will be removed from playdar's library?
