Feature: Implement User Authentication and Registration

As part of the GSB Matrimony Microservices project, we need to implement a robust user authentication and registration system. This functionality is crucial for ensuring the security of user accounts and providing a seamless onboarding experience. The authentication system should support user sign-up, login, password reset, and email verification.

Tasks

• Design the user authentication flow, including user registration, login, and password reset.
• Implement a secure password hashing mechanism to store user passwords.
• Create API endpoints for user registration, login, and email verification.
• Develop logic for sending verification emails and handling email verification tokens.
• Implement user session management to maintain user authentication across requests.
• Write unit tests to ensure the correctness of the authentication and registration process.

Additional Considerations

• Utilize best practices for security, such as implementing measures to prevent common security vulnerabilities like CSRF and XSS attacks.
• Provide clear error messages and user feedback for failed authentication attempts.
