alfred-network-workflow's Issues

VPN Connection

I'm still getting the error below on the latest release when trying to connect my VPN.

The server is unreachable. Try reconnecting. If the problem continues, verify your settings and contact your Administrator.

VPN detects no available options

I have two VPN software installed. Named GlobalProtect and HotspotShield. However the command vpn does not seem to find neither of them

DNS requires admin rights with OSX 12.6

> networksetup -setdnsservers 8.8.8.8
** Error: Command requires admin privileges.

When setting a DNS server, the script fails because networksetup requires admin privileges with OSX 12.6.

Popup window asking for account username/password appears upon choosing a WiFi network

First of all, this is a great workflow. Thanks for making it.

This popup window keeps appearing whenever I choose a WiFi network. It's a hassle to keep on inputting account details every time you want to switch WiFi networks.

I just tested the command networksetup -setairportnetwork en0 <SSID> <SSID Password> in Terminal—I typed my SSID and SSID Password myself—and it didn't prompt me for my account details. It looks like the security 2>&1 >/dev/null find-generic-password -ga "$1" part of the code in ap.sh is the one causing the account details popup window to appear.

Is it possible to modify the workflow such that selecting a WiFi network would not display the popup window and just proceed with the next steps? Similar to how you can just click the WiFi menu bar item and pick the SSID you want and not get prompted by the OS for your account details.

Thanks.

Eth showing Not Connected

Hi - I'm running OS X 10.11.4 on a Late 2013 Mac Pro. When I try to use "Eth", it shows Not Connected, although I have a DHCP address on Eth1. Same goes if I set a static or move to Eth2...

Can't edit DNS list

Thank you for your great work. I just installed the network workflow to toggle my DNS. However, I am facing the following problem.
When I click on on "Edit DNS List", nothing happens. I also tried to manually edit the DNS list in /src/default-dns.conf but the DNS list does not change in Alfred. I would like to remove some of the DNS's and add my piHole to this list.
I am using Alfred 4.0.9 (1144) on Catalina 10.15.4 (19E287). Thank you for your help.

Ethernet connection not detected — USB adapter

Testing on a 2021 MacBook Pro 14 via a USB-C > USB-A > Ethernet adapter (appearing as en7) the "ethernet" command returns as false even when connected

If memory serves I used this workflow on an M1 Mac Mini without issue (has a hardware RJ45 connector)

macOS 12.1, Alfred 4.6.2

VPN Connection

Hello, I recently installed your workflow, but I'm having issues with the VPN connection. I have a single L2TP VPN and your workflow can list it ok, but when I try to connect I get the following error message:

The server is unreachable. Try reconnecting. If the problem continues, verify your settings and contact your Administrator.

It connects fine when I do it the normal way.

DNS switcher using networksetup -setdnsservers

Thanks for all of your work on this. I saw "DNS switcher using networksetup -setdnsservers" on the Packal TODO list and I wanted to give it a 👍

I typically want to toggle between a couple of sets of DNS servers. I do this via shell scripts right now, but doing it via Alfred would be great.

DNS does not work on Ventura

I guess this is because wifi interface does not get matched:

LIST=$(networksetup -listallhardwareports) getWifiInterface "$LIST"
getWifiInterface:3: no matches found: en[0-9]

when connect/disconnect vpn workflow asks for update

hello!

Using that workflow for a while, its super cool!
Only thing which bothers me is when I'm toggling Wireshark VPN's it always asking me for update/import settings and that window from alfred always appears...when using 1.3.0

Any ideas how to fix that?
