1. If there is an icon.icns file on the desktop, the file will be overwritten.
2. Resampling means loss of quality. more blurred and not optimized image.
   

A sample shell script (mov2gif). The file will be written to the same directory and will be unique thanks to uuidgen.

I use the customized PNG to ICNS version;

I installed by double Clicking. Settings Extensions window opened and I checked the PNG to ICNS to be on.

I then right clicked on the 1024x1024.png graphic file I want to convert to an .icns file. I get a set of actions to take, but none are PNG to ICNS.

I am on macOS 12.6.

I see the icon.iconset folder on the Desktop momentarily (sometimes), and then it just disappears without a trace.

It works if I edit the workflow in Automator and put a "Selected Finder Files" or whatever action at the top to choose a file, but doesn't work through the actual Quick Actions interface.

Is there anyway to change the icon name output from 'icon.icns' to 'AppIcon.icns'? I've tried to adapt the workflow a few ways but it doesn't work. Not that I understand anything about code.

if there is a way, that would be awesome. :)
