Plan For Workshop

11:20-12:51 Regular Session MoBT2
Treasure Island F
Google Sponsored Biomedical Big Data Challenge MIT MIMIC-III Jump Star Workshop II

It says two sessions, but I think it's effectively one with a coffee break.

Suggestion for program:

9:35-10am: One presentation on MIMIC/Datathon; Trying to get everyone the demo dataset
10 -11:05am Workshop: running through the example code/analysis
11:05-11:20am: Coffee
11:20-Noon: Continue with workshop, steer people into groups to form possible team, and formulating more advanced analyses.
Noon-12:50p: Help with new concepts, questions about MIMIC, SQL questions, stats questions.

Contingencies:

  • Not very many people show up
  • Too many people show up
  • Room is not conducive for people working on laptops
  • Most people have not been approved for MIMIC access
  • No/poor WiFi
  • Only WiFi for presentation console

Determine Survey Questions

I would suggest the following:

  1. Had you used MIMIC before?

  2. Did you use the demo(s)?

  3. What software did you use in the end?

  4. What other resources did you use?

  5. What resources would have you liked to have access to?

  6. Did you attend the Jump Start session on Monday?

  7. How will you use the Google Cloud credits?

  8. What did you like about the datathon?

  9. What could have we done better?

  10. Other suggestions/comments.
