This might be as simple as providing a script to automatically add the symlinks, see https://github.com/tomnomnom/dotfiles/blob/master/setup.sh

The script should set zsh as shell for the user aswell (Review chsh command)

It could be a good idea to even include a installation script for the required packages, e.g. vim, git and zsh.
