When I create a new map using the Desktop app and save it, subsequent Save or Ctrl+S invocations performs a Save As, opening the Save As window, instead of simply saving the map.

If I open a saved map from disk, Save and Ctrl+S work as expected.

This behaviour is on Windows.

When caps lock is turned on, the single letter hotkeys A and I don't work. I confirmed this behavior in Chrome 34 and Firefox 29, but did not try it out in Safari or IE.

After adding an attachment to a node, if you reopen that node's attachment dialog for a second or subsequent time, an error NS_ERROR_FAILURE gets thrown to the console (something within the minified js).

To replicate:

1. Add a node
2. Press "a" to launch attachment dialog
3. Type some text, and press Save
4. Press "a" to launch attachment dialog again
5. Wait a few seconds, and look in the dev console - an error has appeared

Quite annoying bug: when I quit the application by (Cmd+Q), it doesn't save latest modifications.
I have to click File>Save manually, otherwise all the work is just lost.

given a simple hierarchy of nodes with some of the nodes colored, like this:

when I export this as html

then the exported text backgrounds should be like the ones in the diagram, shouldn't they?

currently they mismatch:
the left leaf1, grey in the map, becomes white in the text,
the right leaf2, grey in the map, becomes green in the text.

I have Google Drive app installed, and it syncs my mindmaps from a cloud as files with *.mup extension.
When I double-click on a such file, MindMup desktop app is launched, but the file is not opened automatically. I have to click "open map" and navigate to the file once more.

Ctrl+F. To avoid duplication, it helps to be able to search for text in large/fuzzy maps, where a concept may be mapped by a collaborator in an unexpected place.

When creating a new measure in the Measurements panel, the measurement name is permitted to contain special characters, including spaces. These measurements can be created successfully - for instance, I created a measurement called "XX X".

However, if you subsequently try to remove such a measurement (by clicking the measurement name and selecting "Remove measure"), an error appears in the dev console (see below) and the measurement is not removed from the Label Map dropdown.

To recreate:

1. Create/open any map
2. Press "m" to open measurements pane
3. Create new measurement called XX X
4. Try to remove the measurement - error in console / not removed from Label Map dropdown

In the screenshot below, note that the measurement has been removed from the table, but there are console errors, and it's sitll in the Label Map dropdown.

Menu items are removed from the screen, but the bar continues occupying the screen area.

Feature Request : Show attachment as tool tip for easy access of attachment information

If I navigate to a sub folder in my google Drive and then create a new mindmup from there it gets saved in the root of my Drive rather than in the folder I selected.

Using Chrome on OSX if that makes any difference.

The initial mindmap that loads on the home page has a node with the text '... for more, click the keyboard icon in the tool bar'.

The tool bar only has a link 'keyboard shortcuts'.

Hey. A little suggestion for how to handle copy/paste node trees. If node trees were converted from/to bullet lists it would be much easier to transfer data between documents and into node attachments. Thanks.

Mindmup has stopped repainting correctly when scrolling in Chromium. See attached image that shows the problem.

Reproduced in Chromium version 31.0.1650.63 Ubuntu 12.04 (31.0.1650.63-0ubuntu0.12.04.1~20131204.1)

Works fine in Firefox.

Hi, I was testing on my iPhone and I had 2 major experience issues.

1. When holding, the context menu opens exactly on the delete node item, making it really easy to delete a node by mistake.
2. I found pretty hard adding new nodes. I'd like to propose to use swipes to support adding nodes, specifically:

   swiperight -> addSubIdea()
   swipedown -> addSiblingIdea()
   swipeup -> addSiblingIdeaBefore()
   swipeleft -> insertIntermediate()

I have experienced multiple times that the autosaving feature does not work on google drive storage: the animated gif keeps tuning and saying "autosaved" but under the hood the document is not saved.

The "file-> save" button is greyed out.

The workaround to not loose modifications is to save as another document "file-> save as -> google drive".

At times, the UI properlyn says "google drive session timeout, please refresh the page before doing modifications". I don't remember if in this case the save button is also greyed out.

This is an awesome piece of software! I'm surprised there are only 8 issues total.

Anyway, would be great to enable nodes to be represented by images. Several other (closed-sourced) mind mapping software packages allow that, and the resulting maps can be quite attractive.

I suspect this is as simple as adding https://www.mindmup.com to the allowed Javascript origins for this application in the Google API console?

README.md section "Running offline" still refers to setup_offline.sh which was removed in commit a363fe1.

Cant export the resultant mindmup exported html into a doc format as the images are encoded in data/base 64 encoding.

The pop-up window for authentication with Google services appear, the only information I see is the list of permissions that the application requires. However, if I am logged into more than one Google account at once, I don't have the choice of which account I will use to authenticate (and by Murphy's Law will automatically choose the wrong one). This makes it very difficult for other people to share mind maps with me.

The license is now non-standard and that renders this project unsuitable for any commercial use. If that is the intention fair enough, if not you may wish to change it back to MIT.

After saving a map to Google Drive, the Share menu gains a "Share via Google Drive" option.

When selecting this option, the Share dialog is correctly launched, but it also always throws an error in the console (see below).

Although the error is clearly within the Google API code, is the error occurring because MindMup is failing to provide all the information that's needed?

If there's nothing that you can do to suppress this error, it does appear to be benign so it may be safe to reject the issue.

I think the shadow of focused node is too much heavy.

when large maps extend beyond a certain region on the right and bottom (but not left or top), dragging them creates artifacts that stay forever. see image, which i created just by dragging the whole map around. i'm not sure if this is a firefox problem, a mindmup problem, or a video driver problem, but so far i've only seen it on mindmup and i can recreate it at will. firefox 20 on linux mint 13 w/ nvidia driver

on right click, if i stay next to right edge of the screen, context sub menu appears with a gap which makes it disappear when i try to hover it :(

Is your application tested with Firefox 29.0? I got three crashes in 10 minutes.

Useful to hard-wrap node text. Tried Alt/Shift/Ctrl+Enter. Shift+Enter is used by Lucid Chart.

The keyboard shortcut for 'Expand/Collapse' - Shift + Up works great as specified in the documentation http://blog.mindmup.com/p/keyboard-shortcuts.html

Please also update the same on the tools menu where it shows as Ctrl + Up.
(only shows up when the tool bar is converted to menu)

I'm a UI designer and don't know how to set up a local copy to tune the design of Mindmup. I see that main content (map nodes) is in canvas so there is no CSS to change it to my flavor. So I write this to tell you that all things looks and works so good for this design of nodes. Please, provide an easy way so I can help you (I know CSS) or just make them flat, you know.

In the "Configure statuses" dialog, it's possible to create statuses with blank descriptions. This seems inconsistent with other features, e.g. you can't create a measurement label with a blank name.

If you create a blank status, and you apply it to a node, the Progress Stats dialog renders blank labels with their numeric identifiers instead.

My feeling is that it shouldn't be possible to create statuses without a description.

On Mac OS the full "MindMup Desktop - Free Mind Mapping" title is displayed both in system Launchpad, and in App menu.
That looks rather ugly

It would improve editing of attachment text a lot if the editor was not a modal on top but a floating window so that you could move around and resize while having access to the node tree. Or maybe docked to the bottom/side of the screen. Something that allows access to the node tree while having the attachment text up at the same time. Thanks!

You guys developed really cool project. Very very useful.

Please, add a feature in which we can focus on only one node. When focussed it will look as root node and show only it's child's tree. All other nodes which are its parent, sibling, everything above it will be invisible.
This will really helps when we want to focus on only a particular subject in a big mind map.

When I move the map, the right and bottom edges of the screen fill with afterimages of the map. I've tried on two different monitors and get the same result. I use Chrome primarily, which is where I have been experiencing this problem. I tried once in Firefox, and I did not have the problem. I run Windows 7 64-bit. I used mindmup in Chrome with no problems for about a month. Only within the past week have I experienced the afterimages; I've been through several reboots of my system and many more restarts of Chrome, but the problem remains consistently.

Short version:
"Shift+Space" should enter a space (" ") when in typing mode but currently simply does nothing.

Long version:
Often when I type something like "the WTO meeting" it comes out as "the WTOmeeting". This is really annoying. The problem is, that hitting "Shift+Space", which I apparently accidentally use when I type fast and a space is followed by a capital letter (e.g. in "I go there" => "Igo there") is not recognized as a space but simply does nothing at all when in typing mode.

Is there anyone out there that is interested in helping build a fairly simple extension for mindmup? Im happy to pay for the time.

When you have added a measurement to the Measurements panel, you can click on a cell in the grid to enter a value for that cell.

However, weird things happen if your cell value begins with a period:

• If you enter value of .0, it renames the "TOTAL" label to "0"!
• If you enter value of .1, there's an error in the dev console: "TypeError: this[0] is undefined"

The workaround is to enter a proper double value (e.g. 0.0 or 0.1).

It's standard in Excel, Google Spreadsheets, Lucid Chart etc. Space seems unwieldy, and I expected it to overwrite the existing text.

I love the product and love that it's open-source. It's perfect except for the fact that I would really like to able to put on labels onto connections and node branches. I'm not expecting you guys to code this for free, but it would be really cool if you could quickly point me in the right direction for development. Has this issue already been started? Is there any documentation I should be reading?

I'm familiar with Sinatra, Ruby and Javascript and I'll write tests, I promise!

I'm using the instance at mindmup.com. After I added an attachment to a node, the map went blank. Now after I merely switch browser tabs, the map becomes blank. Zooming in/out doesn't show it, but resizing the browser window does.

I've saved the map, closed the tab, and opened mindmup.com again. The issue persists. I'm using Chrome 28.
