auto-ytdl's Introduction

Contact & about me

I am a French CS & mathematics student looking around for new technology to learn about ! The type of guy who likes to listen and ends up knowing a little bit of everything. I love to tinker with stuff, be it software or hardware, and the challenges that come with designing stuff from ground zero & foresee future development.

What I look forward to do once I have some time

Spend more time with friends and family. Go to concerts, go skiing, hiking, read, improve yet again my neovim configuration. Write blog posts, explore Github. Automate my workflow. Think about life. Play some new songs on the piano. Accumulate even more useless surface knowledge from reddit. Improve my touch-typing.

Some projects in other languages (C/C++, Java, and more) to keep my skills up-to-date.

Project ideas:

  • Collaborate on KDE Connect / bluetooth connection
  • Do some things on the Neovim side
  • Create some experimental neural network lib
  • Planning optimization with travel time lookup and availability
  • Create my own, good, music player
  • Hack around a fingerprint reader driver

auto-ytdl's Issues

Change download location

Im downloading thousands of videos and want to change the location of the downloads to mass storage and not my SSD's how can i do this?

[probably not a music file, not adding] Override or Setting Name/Location?

I downloaded your app yesterday and have begun working with it on my Linux Mint 20.3 system.

My use case is that I have been downloading audio from some YouTube channel's live streams for off-line listening. aytdl seems the perfect tool for automating this.

In my experimenting I have gotten [probably not a music file, not adding] output on a couple of things that I have downloaded. I have looked in the config file and not found any likely suspects for what to change. I have downloaded several 3 hour music compilations without issue, so I assume it isn't duration related. 'aytdl update --force' will download all the things, so that isn't a workable answer.

Am I missing the setting or is there not one? If not, can a command be injected in the config to skip whatever the check is that is tripping the [probably not a music file, not adding] action?

Thank you for the application and any assistance you can give me with my use case.

Outdated?

Hi,

Just wondering if you found a new app you feels accomplishes these tasks better? Is it still CLI only or does it have a webui/gui?

graphical interface for auto-ytdl

Does it sound interesting to you?
Would you want auto-ytdl to stay cli-only, directly gui, or have two projects (this and auto-ytdl-gui i guess) separately maintained?
