The next generation cross-platform client for Modchat

What is Modchat?

Modchat is a moderated chat webapp designed for creators on Scratch. The primary goal is to create a center to hang out, work on projects, and meet new people all while following Scratch's Community Guidelines. Since Scratch is designed for children, all images and text must be moderated very strictly. The user interface should be accessible and easy to navigate.

This repository holds the frontend code, which is a dynamic Vue 3 application built with JavaScript and CSS. The backend (which you'll probably want for developing this) can be found at micahlt/modchat-server. The project follows the all-contributors specification.

Project setup

Install dependencies

$ npm install

Compile and host server

$ npm run serve

Build for production

$ npm run build

Lint and fix files

$ npm run lint

Signing Up

When I try to sign up, once I have completed Scratch auth, it won't let me type in my modchat account credentials.

Allow effortlessly switching servers

Hi!
I noticed that one is able to host their own server with modchat-server.
Although that is most likely just for development tests, it would be nice if there was an advanced option in the UI that allows users to change the URL of the server temporarily. This is probably a low priority feature, but it would just help open up modchat even more for tinkerers & coders.

Chat bar gone on mobile (safari)

The chat bar on mobile safari worked and then on day it just went too far down. I am now unable to select the bar even while trying to reply

Doesn’t work on WebKit

On WebKit on Safari on IPadOS, it just shows a white screen.

Webkit support is….. a little bit important.

Just a little.

No sarcasm here at all.

yeah, no, this should be pretty high priority.

That and it just not logging in for me on Firefox and Brave.

Empty Messages

Currently, users are able to post empty messages. Should be an easy fix, though.

Update pop up not able to close on mobile

Update popup not able to close on mobile (safari) due to the small screen and that you can’t scroll the update popup

I hope this is the right repository (not sure if it was supposed to be on the sync-server repository)
