I will publish the existing Meteostat code base step by step in the upcoming weeks. However, this will probably be separated in a legacy repository which contains the current code base, written in PHP, and repositories for the future code which will most likely be written in Python.
You're right. Hourly data contains model data by default in v1 of the API. In version 2 you'll actually need to opt-in to include model data for a weather station.
If you want only observations, try this for v1:
https://api.meteostat.net/v1/history/hourly?station=10637&start=2019-05-02&end=2019-05-11&time_zone=Europe/Berlin&time_format=Y-m-d%20H:i&exclude_model=1
In v2 it's the other way around. If you want to include model data, set the model
parameter:
https://api.meteostat.net/v2/stations/hourly?station=10637&start=2020-02-01&end=2020-02-04&model=1
V2 point data is currently containing model data by default, as it is being interpolated anyway.
