Today I noticed a sharp increase in traffic to this repository.
This might be due to discussions about the alternative-front-ends
repo on other platforms:

I suggest changing the URL for the official domain of Invidious from https://invidio.us to https://invidious.io. https://invidio.us is now deprecated as per the project's recent announcement. Thank you!
"invidio.us is now deprecated, invidious.io is the new domain.
The invidious-redirect website ( invidio.us ) is now https://redirect.invidious.io/
The instance API ( instances.invidio.us ) is now https://api.invidious.io/
The uptimerobot page ( uptime.invidio.us ) is now https://uptime.invidious.io/
https://git.invidious.io/ redirects to the Github page of the project: https://github.com/iv-org/invidious/
https://docs.invidious.io/ redirects to the documentation website of the project: https://github.com/iv-org/documentation/
https://invidious.io/ will become in the future a "project presentation" page (like https://searx.me/ ), we will use a markdown framework like Hugo."
Android app to transform links system wide.
UntrackMe transforms Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Reddit and Medium and Wikipedia links to links of open source, privacy friendly front-ends.
It is not finished and currently only works for albums but:
Add Libredirect to redirectors, as it is an actively maintained fork of Privacy Redirect
Scribe is an alternative frontend to Medium.
Source:
Add Beatbump as it is an alternative to YouTube music, and maybe even make a separate section to differentiate YouTube and YouTube Music
Hello @ErlingMK ,
I have recently discovered your Xeddit repository at https://github.com/ErlingMK/Xeddit . On Github, you are the owner and sole contributor of Xeddit.
However I've noticed there is also a Xeddit repository on Gitlab, see https://gitlab.com/xeddit/xeddit .
Are you the original author of Xeddit?
Fritter is an alternative frontend to Twitter for Android and iOS written in Flutter and Dart: https://github.com/jonjomckay/fritter
spotube: Cross-platform Spotify client that uses YouTube to stream music and has no ads
SpotX: Windows-only Spotify client that blocks ads and unlocks skip function
Additionally, there are kotify and librespot, but I don't think they cater to a general audience (kotify is for power users focused on library organization, librespot is for premium users only).
Snew is an open-source parody client for Reddit forked from the Reddit source code that runs entirely in your browser written in HTML/CSS/JS by go1dfish and Mumberthrax.
Hi @TheSilkky !
I saw your Reddit post here: https://old.reddit.com/r/opensource/comments/n8782f/i_am_hosting_free_opensource_privacy_respecting/, linking to your website at https://silkky.cloud/. Thank you for posting this.
I will add these projects to my repo.
kddit.kalli.st is another site to use for reddit, it's relatively minimal but works quite well IMO.
FreeTube is an open-source YouTube app for privacy on Windows, Mac, and Linux written in Node.js and Electron.
Hello,
Is there any alternative front for LinkedIn?
Cheers,
https://github.com/meeb/tubesync
From their README:
TubeSync is a PVR (personal video recorder) for YouTube. Or, like Sonarr but for YouTube (with a built-in download client). It is designed to synchronize channels and playlists from YouTube to local directories and update your media server once media is downloaded.
I made an alternative frontend for the news website Reuters.com and I host it under Boxcat.site. It's mostly meant to be used with link redirects and the home page isn't really usable.
Code is here: https://github.com/HookedBehemoth/supreme-waffle.
I'm not quite sure in what category that would fit or if it should go in it's own.
I think it's a better experience. Also, it focuses on news addiction, you only have 40 static news from the previous day (it's sorted by days, up to a week).
Hello, I've made an alternative TikTok Frontend. It still has some issues but it's on a usable state. You can get a user's feed, get an individual video, get a tag, see trendings and follow other users without having to use an account.
All requests made to TikTok are server-side so you will never have to contact their servers.
Here is the source code and here is a deployed version using Heroku.
SearXNG: A fork of SearX focused on providing better theming, more translations, detailed descriptions of search engines and their reliabilities, and easier bug reporting.

Repo: https://github.com/searxng/searxng
(Note that instance directory for SearXNG is same as SearX’s: searx.space.)
Bibliogram - Open-source front-end for Instagram
Unfortunately link to Barinsta repo 404s, the author received cease and desist by Facebook: austinhuang0131/austinhuang0131#2
I'm not sure if this project would qualify. It's more of an indirect alternative front-end than a direct one. You supply it an article from one of many, many different websites, and it does its best to take the main content and give it a nice, clean page format.
I especially like using this for when I want to share a news article, but it can handle things like step-by-step tech support blogs as well (since most of them just use Wordpress, which it knows how to parse).
It is an application that allows you to replace the default one. The code is available here: https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe.
Rimgo https://codeberg.org/video-prize-ranch/rimgo is the maintained frontend, that everyone moved to, made by the guy behind Librarian (an Odysee frontend) https://codeberg.org/librarian/librarian
Imgin and rimgu are both dead.
