Support for generation of asymmetric keys must be implemented.

The API should provide methods for handling encoding signing/verifying with keys provided at runtime.

There's already a non encoding version of the API so implementation could simply wrap those methods.

Also investigate whether an internal cache should be used.

Implement file digesters.

As this project doesn't depend on any other dependency, it should be easy to add a module-info and improve the usage in a modular system

Provide overrides for all methods that take a password to take a char array instead of a String.

Key store persistence to a variety of outputs must be implemented.

Bring compatibility down to Java 8.

It's only used in a couple tests but I don't want people thinking it's a dependency because it isn't.
