gomarkov's Issues

Collaborate on a fork of this repository so that it continues to improve?

I notice that @pavelapk and @slim-bean are doing some active work on their forks. I have done a bit of work too -- nothing major, just allowing deterministic generate output and switching the start and end tokens to agree with regexp syntax.

Should we consider switching to the same fork so we can all benefit from each other's work? I expect @mb-14 has lost interest in the project given the lack of activity since 2019.

Question: Why StartToken is "$" and EndToken is "^"?

gomarkov is using "$" as StartToken and "^" as EndToken, but this seems odd for me. Because, in regular expression, "^" means start of line and "$" means end of line. Are there any reasons for this assignment?

gomarkov/gomarkov.go

Lines 14 to 17 in 044dd0d

const (
StartToken = "$"
EndToken = "^"
)

Note: I'm not familiar with Markov Chain's traditional or standard notation.

Usage code not works

Current usage in README.md has two problems:

  1. No package.
  2. Uses encoding/json but doesn't import it.

So, I suggest to fix them.
