Started using XwRemote for remote desktop today, and was wondering if there were plans to add a fullscreen mode.
Currently, I am filling the screen to the window, but there is still some interface that I would like to hide.

The list would be refreshed too many times.
Fix on one of the next releases

When Server Manager has many servers, after editing one, the list is refreshed.
Pull selected server into view after refrseh.

On the "Global settings" dialog, when you click on the "Interface" tab you can see an "X" on the right.
If you click on it, the tab disappears.
Fortunately, it comes back if you reopen the dialog.

Please note that this message is displayed when attempting to connect to a SFTP server using only Username/Password:

No suitable authentication method found to complete authentication (publickey, keyboard-interactive).

Using WinSCCP, the connection is established.

Preamble

I will appreciate if XwRemote offers options to be minimized/closed to system tray. Most of the FTP clients/download managers that I have used support minimizing/closing to system tray so I regard this a common feature.

Suggestion

Currently XwRemote has 3 tabs in Settings window:

• Security
• File Location
• SSH

You may add a new tab:

• General (or Interface)

with two check-boxes:

• Minimize to system tray (Minimize title bar button sends XwRemote to system tray)
• Close to system tray (Close title bar button sends XwRemote to system tray)

If this is implemented, XwRemote tray icon may have two context menu commands (on right click):

• Show
• Exit

Double click (which I prefer) or single click on system tray icon of XwRemote should maximize/restore XwRemote from system tray.

If only Minimize to system tray check-box is implemented I will be contented (although I prefer to minimize to task bar and to close to system tray).

Usability

Normally I open and use many programs so my task bar becomes cluttered and I prefer the programs which I don't need immediately to reside minimized in system tray so that I can restore them only when I need them. At least for me a native option to send XwRemote to system tray will be very handy. I said a native option because now I use an external tool- SmartSystemMenu, which adds additional commands to title bar, to send XwRemote to system tray, screen:

If you don't use system tray that much feel free to close this issue.

Off-topic

Looking at Settings window I noticed that there is no space in the title bar- GlobalSettings in stead of Global Settings, screen:

This is of no importance at all but I suppose that Global Settings will look better than GlobalSettings.

I was hoping that there was a software that combined SSH, RDP, VNC, etc. together, and luckily enough, DDG recommended your software, albeit a few pages into the results. Looks like you've been maintaining it for a while, too.

But aside from getting lucky that a search engine directed me here, the internet has otherwise never heard of your software, nor, it seems, anything like it.

I like to compare, contrast, and read/watch reviews about software before I install it and try it for myself, but I can't find anything** about your software online, which is very strange.

Are there any reviews of your software anywhere? I've looked via DDG and YouTube. I didn't make it through captcha hell to ask google.

When I try to connect to a FTP server (Storegate - ftp1.storegate.com) XwRemote connects successfully but it cannot retrieve the directory list:

An error occurred while retrieving the directory list.
Reason: ERROR: ListDirectory: /home => Timed out trying to read data from the socket stream!

So it seems that the problem is not caused by the server but by the client (XwRemote).

Anyway, I find XwRemote to be a very useful program and if it is still in active development (I hope so) I may suggest some possible enhancements (mostly in the GUI department).

I need to connect to a RDP server via a bastion server which is accessible via SSH.

So if XwRemote were to support tunneling it's RDP/SSH/VNS traffic via a SSH tunnel he opens itself, it would be great.

Of course I could open my SSH tunnel by hand prior to connecting using my client RDP (Microsoft's or mRemoteNG or XwRemote or …) but it's less user-friendly and the public in need for such connection is not tech savy.

For Linux users they can use Remmina but this client does not support running on Windows OSes.

Is jump via SSH hosts on the roadmap?

It would be great if this application had a "Fast Connect" feature, like a textbox to enter an IP and a dropdown to choose the protocol to basicly connect to a computer with only an IP and "Enter".

When I connect to an RDP server with the option size = “fit to window”, the remote display is set to the current size of the XwRemote window, which is as expected. However, when I later change the windows size locally (of the XwRemote window), the remote display size is not adjusted.

I would expect the remote size to follow the local window size. This should be either automatically (everytime I change the local window size) or possible to request manually by pressing a button or so.

Currently,there is only a release for windows in your repo.To be honest,as a linux user,I can not use XwRemote since there is no tips for build a release for linux.

When downloading a big file list over SFTP, application gets locked.
Reason unknown. may be server specific.
