Looks like a recent Chrome security update has broken the hack it was using to insert text, and the doInsertText function no longer works on Chrome. Trying to find a workaround now.

I want to programmatically insert a link into a google doc. So far, I've tried to modify docs.pasteText to change the type and data to something like:

data.setData("text/html", '<a href="www.google.com">Google</a>');

but it doesn't seem to work. I also tried to simulate pressing Cmd-K (the default keyboard shortcut for inserting a link), but that also doesn't seem to work.

Is there any other way to insert a link? I'm hopeful since it seems like that's what's happening in this screenshot here: https://github.com/matthewsot/docs-plus/blob/master/screenshots/actionselector.jpg :)

Is it possible to use this to insert formatted text.

E.g. having

"this is <b>bold</b>"

would insert

this is bold
