nexus-5-upstream's Issues

llcon support

Hello!

I found nice kernel patch for kernel 3.4 which allows to show kmsg (dmesg) on android devices while booting.

The only problem I do not know fremabuffer addres which should be specified as llcon driver kernel arguments / prebuild.

Do you know what framebuffer address nexus5 has?

Showing kmsg instead of bootanimation it is a nice feature to have. Include?

Mainline kernel's image is too large to boot

With kernel 5.7.6 I was able to boot using the build-kernel script, but on more recent kernels up to the mainline, the qcom_defconfig used causes too much to be enabled (I think it's those media configs, like DIGITAL_TV), making the image too large (a bit over 100MB), and even though there's no error during flashing, there's no output on the console after fastboot.

By enabling one option in the config, others are disabled by default, and brings the image back to 80MB or so, which boots successfully.

I'm not sure what to do about this. I did try the postmarketOS image and they're on 5.9, with DIGITAL_TV enabled and it still works, although I think the flashing process is different there.

Battery Issue.

This kernel will not detect the power percentage, rendering 0%

Nexus 5, linux-image-3.4.0-1-hammerhead - looking for Kernel update

Hi..
Im running linux ubuntu touch on Nexus 5, getting the below error whn trying to install docker
time="2019-10-26T22:13:52.045791393+05:30" level=fatal msg="Your Linux kernel version 3.4.0-cyanogenmod-gc95a726 is not supported for running docker. Please upgrade your kernel to 3.10.0 or newer."
Looking at your project, any luck in upgrading the kernel to anything higher than 3.10.0?
raised Request in ubuntu touch. but i doubt any one has updated kernel
Thankyou..

Which initrd.img should I use?

I extracted a initrd.img from the latest factory image from December 2016, but I can't get the kernel to boot.
When I do fastboot boot ... the phone reboots and reboots again then returns booting into Android using the currently installed kernel.
I suspect I'm using the wrong initrd.img, but I can't check, because I didn't build the UART cable yet.

Where do I get the right initrd.img or how can I build it?
