I'm working towards getting your class implemented into a web application that 
has been spammed 
often. When I followed your documentation and edited the code to my specific 
application, I keep 
getting "Your Akismet API key is not valid.", but when I manually verify the 
key:

$ curl -d "key=[removed]&blog=http://[removed]/" 
http://rest.akismet.com/1.1/verify-key
valid
$
