I'm on CentOS 7 and it is not banning. Pretty sure the regex needs to be changed. Here is a log line from /var/log/messages. Maybe I can help you to get proper instructions for RedHat based distros?

When trying to configure the plugin, the options do not show the text, but show the option name instead. However, the plugin still works if we choose the option based on the position in the Features section of the documentation (i.e. selecting first position for logging events does log all events).

Replacing by JLoggerSyslog instead of JLogLoggerSyslog resolve the issue
