This app lacks the support for UI localization. Please, add i18n to the code. I would like to make a Russian translation.

I have been looking into a model in c++ for the play list to make it searchable.
Its to early for a pull request, so I am simply asking for some reviews and opinions. :-)
It works okay for me at the moment (TM) not tested heavily though.

I downloaded your code to find out, how this kind a remote controller can be implemented.

I got a problem with checkConnection, which sometimes seemed to work but sometimes not. I thought the reason could be in function checkConnection in file SecondPage.qml, because there is the same function also in javascript file checkConnection.js. However the real reason was ip port conflict between VLC and SailfisOD SDK. Both are using port 8080.

Anyway I removed checkConnection.js and commented out import of checkConnection.js in the qml code.

It seems, that ipport in VLC-player is fixed to 8080 for http. For Telnet remote control the port can be selected.

BTW, could the upTimer be stopped in Cover mode?

I've updated sailfishos to version 2.0.1.11 and sync ui is not working.
This error is being logged:

property 'fullscreen' of undefined

I cannot make this app connect with VLC 3.0.1. I followed all instructions but there is no connection and no error message either. Does the new VLC support the same remote control API?

• Firewall was down.
• both Jolla phone and my notebook running linux and VLC are in the same subnet and ping each other
• Port 8080 is open by vlc (http interface is on)

The problem may be the VLC itself. localhost:8080 shows Error 404 and I cannot find any meaningful tip in the Net. I tried rc and oldrc too, but nothing worked.

I don't know if you still maintain it, but I was wondering why my phone battery was draining faster than usual when using it and noticed the systemd-journald process taking some CPU%. It looks like for some reason, the journal is flooded with the same message:

[W] unknown:156 - file:///usr/share/harbour-vlc_remote/qml/pages/FirstPage.qml:156: TypeError: Cannot read property 'fullscreen' of undefined

I'm not even sure that's the real reason for my battery drain, or if you can fix this… The fullscreen button works fine by the way.
