By seperating especially big queries we should be able to get rid of timeouts on bigger forums.

The target version of phpBB will be 3.1. This means there will be no 2.0.x release for phpBB 3.0. phpBB Statistics 1.0.x will get small updates with bugfixes and phpBB target version increases.

Proposal:

While the phpBB module system that is currently used works it is far from being perfect for this MOD. Some parts are somewhat hackish, i.e. the add-on system and enabling/disabling modules. For a more efficient way of loading modules and in order to have a more user friendly module system the phpBB Statistics MOD should use it's own module system.

Possible issues:

• no compatibility with older versions
• if the above applies we'll need to move to 2.0.0

The old version IDs are no longer used after the transition to git from SVN.

We should start caching at least some data for a specified number of days. The number of days should be set via the ACP.
