Hi,

The fm_escape_string function does not escape the following wildcards (with a backslash):

*
@`

They must be escaped for the newFindCommand to work. Although if you escape them for newEditCommand (like for an email field), they cause problems, so I think it should be made conditional.

Also, fm_escape_string will lose an int and return a null, because there is no

return $input;

at the end.

PS: I didn't use the library, but I did use this function my project, so I just wanted to share what I learned. The above may not be useful in your class' context.
