As things stand right now, you should inherit from ScatteringTheory, you need to implement _raw_fields or _raw_scat_matrs. That will give you ability to use calc_holo, calc_intensity, and calc_fields (and calc_scat_matrix if you implement _raw_scat_matrs). If you want calc_cross_sections to work you also need to implement _raw_cross_sections.
