How to enable DC/DAL features in the Kernel ?

Hi,

I'm interested to build the latest amd-staging kernel 4.11 on Gentoo and i need your help. Which are the options must be to enable in the amd-staging kernel to have DC/DAL features working for my Rx560 ?

Thanks,

AMD Radeon Pro Vega 20 (Aka vega12)

I have a macbook pro with vega 20 which uses the amdgpu firmware vega12 and when i boot any distro the graphics glitch and the computer freezes. If i install amdgpu pro on ubuntu it works flawlessly. Would you guys help me debug this and fix for upstream?
I would be very glad to help debug and collaborate to find the fix, if i may.
Please, excuse me if this is not the right place for me to ask this kind of thing, and please if you can, kindly redirect me to the right place.

Interlacing, duplicated pixels after suspending or hibernating

When I suspend or hibernate my computer and then boot it back up there is a section on my monitor being weirdly interlaced with some parts duplicated. See it yourself in the attached video. Rebooting fixes it. I have an AMD Radeon R9 280X graphics card and this only happens with the amdgpu driver, not with the radeon driver. The can be said for the AMD Radeon HD 7850 I had installed previously. This only affects one of my three monitors, which is plugged in via Displayport 1.2. Switching the cable doesn't help so I suppose it's a driver issue.

Update: This occurs if I turn off my monitor and then turn it on again too. It also doesn't occur in BIOS, just when Linux is booted.

What are the ways to control AMD Radeon HD 7670M performance?

I'm really unsure if this the right place to ask, just point me to the right place, if that is the case.

I have a Laptop AMD Radeon HD 7670M GPU and would like to slow it down.
Is there a way to configure it? Internet is kind of bloated with unfunctional examples.

Has anyone successfully enabled Freesync with this kernel?

Has anyone successfully enabled Freesync with this kernel?
I couldn't get it to work despite xrandr saying it's enabled. Monitor still acts as if it was fixed refresh rate.

Ubuntu-GNOME 17.04
R7 1700X
R9 Fury
Asus MG279Q
Mesa 17.1.8

I tried to get this to work last week, but now I'm actually back on vanilla Ubuntu kernel 4.12 becouse I also had a copule of other issues, like:

  • Random crashes about once per 24 hour
  • Display port audio worked, but somewhat unreliable and didn't seem to work at all for 44,1khz content
  • Display mode switching was very buggy. 90 and 144hz refused to work, but 60 and 120hz usually works.
  • As I said, I can't seem to get Freesync to work. Does it need some sort of userspace support as well?
