fw_updates's Issues

Firmware update for unifying receiver

I have received a notification from gnome-software on, Ubuntu 17.10 about a "new" RQR24.05_B0029 firmware update from RQR24.01_B0023.
I am not sure whether this update is really applicable to my USB device or not considering the requirements:

Required boot-loader
 - Name: BOT03
   Version: yy <= 01
   USB identifier: 046D/AAAC/03yy (Vendor id./Product id./BCD release)
                   046D/AAAD/03yy (Vendor id./Product id./BCD release)

I get this information about my dongle:

solaar show
Unifying Receiver
  Device path : /dev/hidraw0
  USB id : 046d:c52b
  Serial : 85EC9B56
    Firmware : 24.01.B0023
    Bootloader : 01.08
    Other : AA.AC
Has 2 paired device(s) out of a maximum of 6.
  Notifications: wireless (0x000100)
  Device activity counters: 1=176, 2=199
...

The bootloader doesn't seem to match the requirement.

firmware RQR12.10 (branch update2019-08-27) not applyable

The uploaded firmware RQR12.10 seems to be incomplete (to short?) and fails to apply with error:

Installing the former firmware RQR12.08 in the same system works fine.
Could it be a crippled firmware file? RQR12.10_B0032.hex is significantly shorter than RQR12.08_B0030.hex

Feature Request

I don't know the proper place to log this.

I want to modify the firmware for K780 so there is an option to keep the LED on for which device is currently connected, as I often lose track.

If need be, I can try coding it up. I assume your firmware is C. Is there a "plugin" architecture I can link into?

Logi Bolt USB Receiver

Since version 2.0 of ScriptDFU, firmware updates for Bolt RCV and Bolt RCV paired devices should be supported. I want to test that. However, all the firmware in this repository is close to 2 years old and I can not find firmware for Logi Bolt devices.

Logitech Unifying Receiver for wireless mouse: scroll wheel problems

When the computer resumes from sleep, sometimes - I am unsure of the conditions - the mouse wheel either ceases to work entirely or yields only very slow scrolling. Removing and reinserting the dongle fixes the problem.

Possibly firmware version RQR24 solves the problem; I have only just updated (with some trouble) to that version.

It is possible that the software called tlp causes the problem. But the cause might also be a firmware bug. I suppose batteries might be at issue too, but I have no reason to think that the mouse's battery is low.

[Bug] Logitech Crayon not working on iOS 14

Ever since I updated my 6th gen iPad to iOS 14, Crayon is not working properly. Now, tapping functionally doesn't work at all, and any swiping works very inconsistently.

This doesn't seem to be a hardware related problem, as I used Crayon with other iPad 6th gen still under iOS 13, and it worked flawlessly. I've also checked for any fw updates on Crayon, but its last update (1.0.15) seems to be from 2018.
Do you guys think this could be firmware related? All versions of iOS 14 had the same problem.

Disclaimer: before even thinking on posting here, I've followed all Apple's customer support instructions, talked about this on Reddit and also waited on a response from Logitech for a couple of weeks. No luck in those, so I'm sort of losing hope here.

Merge lvfs-testing to stable

Hello, please consider merge some firmwares from testing to stable.
We are unable to update some devices without enabling lvfs-testing when there are no updates in 3years...
Thank you for your work

Allow mapping of Break key for MX Keys

I'm a software developer and I use the Break key often, that is, before I got my MX Keys. Love the keyboard, but miss the Break key, and I can't map it in Logitech Options. Can you add Break as a mappable key so I can rebind one of the special keys above the numpad.

Thanks

Firmware RQR12.11.B0032 not available in LVFS

As per summary, it looks like the (signed) firmware RQR12.11.B0032 for Unifying devices is not available on LVFS.

There is only the version RQR12.10.B0032 (recently released on 2023-03-28), which is incompatible due to the requirements on bootloader version, and being unsigned.

Firmware update for Logitech K830

According to this Logitech response there is a firmware update for their keyboard K830 available regarding the MouseJack vulnerability. Please, make this update also available for GNU/Linux users without access to the to date supported OS.

Regards,
jvp.

Will pressing keys during keyboard firmware update interrupt the progress?

Hi there, I am using MX keyboard. I tried updating the firmware and accidentally pressed control-c and control-d during the firmware update (i was trying to kill some terminal progress on my mac program).

May I know whether pressing those keys will affect the firmware update of the keyboard? From what I know control-c and control-d kills progress for Unix commands and this can potentially kill some firmware update progress?

Need to downgrade (or upgrade?) Logitech K375s firmware (or get access to newer firmware)

I have a Logitech K375s keyboard that I'm using on Ubuntu 18.04 systems. The following are screenshots from Solaar on my system:

Screenshot_2020-04-30_01-53-49

The current MPK 03.04.B0014 firmware for my keyboard seems to have a bug.

The keyboard goes into a suspend or sleep mode after its untouched for a short while, which I am sure preserves the battery life. When it is touched again, it "wakes up".

On my Logitech K375s with the MPK 03.04.B0014 firmware, there's a string of gibberish that flies out of the keyboard every time it "wakes up" from this light, and otherwise perfectly functional, sleep. I've tried swapping the keyboard mode -- to iOS mode (by pressing Fn-I for about seven seconds), to MacOS mode (by pressing Fn-O for about seven seconds), and to Windows/Android mode (by pressing Fn-P for about seven seconds) -- and none of those modes is without this issue. In fact, every time a switch modes, a new set of garbage is randomly spewed by the keyboard (albeit, each mode seems to use a slightly different set of garbage characters. I suppose there is a small chance my keyboard was physically damaged in some way, but it's working perfectly in all other ways. And the keyboard has been doing this since I purchased it, IIRC.

I like this keyboard in every other way. I believe it's too late to return it. I really don't WANT to replace it.

Can I either downgrade to the MPK 03.02.B0009 firmware available on LVFS already -or- can newer firmware that fixes this problem be uploaded to LVFS? I've tried with Ubuntu 18.04 systems, running this version of fwupd:

user@xubuntu:~$ sudo fwupdmgr --version
client version:	1.2.10
compile-time dependency versions
	gusb:	0.2.11
	efivar:	34
daemon version:	1.2.10
user@xubuntu:~$

When I run fwupdmgr get-devices, the Unifying Receiver shows up, but not the keyboard device.

user@xubuntu:~$ sudo fwupdmgr --allow-older get-devices

How would I force the downgrade? Or will there be an upgrade? I'm REALLY hoping there's a solution. You have no idea how badly this interferes with writing documents, gaming... virtually everything worthwhile I do on this system. And it's otherwise SUCH a great device...

This seems related to, but unique from, long-expired fwupd/fwupd issue #449; I also submitted fwupd/fwupd issue #2044 in relation to this. Please let me know what can be done! Thanks.
