send-with-kdeconnect@rcalixte: Doesn't work at all

NVIDIA G86 [GeForce 8500 GT]

What happened?

Context menu is shown OK but no locale. Action doesn't happen. No error messages no nothing.

Other information

I don't know much enough scripting to fix this myself. Still slooowly learning. ;-)

Not sending to printing when selecting more than one file

Action version/Build date

1.0

Cinnamon version

6.0.4

Distribution

LMDE6

Graphics hardware and driver used

No response

Action name and maintainer

calculate-sha256sum@rcalixte @rcalixte

What happened?

If you select two or more files at same time (I tried with PDF), right click, and select action Print File(s), nothing happens, nothing added to the printing cue. If I do it only with one document, then is sent to printing and appears at printing cue. The printer is set as Default. So, only works file by file at the moment, so not possible to send various files to printing at once.

move-into-a-new-folder@anaximeno: Please don't let me move my solid state drive!

move-into-a-new-folder@anaximeno @anaximeno

What happened?

When a solid state drive is connected (and that might also be true for hard disk drives and USB sticks) and I right-click on it in the nemo context menu, one item is labelled "Move into a new folder". Well, I didn't expect that to be shown and I don't want to try out what happens if I click it LOL.

[backup-this-file@h3nr1ke] Feature Request: Add configurable extension

Preamble: Unfortunately I cannot find the proper UUID in the drop-down list for the ‘Action name and maintainer’ …

It would be great, if it were possible to configure the extension used when creating a back-up file. Thanks.

Title:
Create PDF function for Nemo with ImageMagick dependency

Description:
I've developed a Nemo action that facilitates the creation of PDF files from images. This action relies on ImageMagick's convert tool for the conversion process.

Instructions:

  1. Prerequisites: Ensure ImageMagick is installed on your system.
  2. Installation: Add the provided code snippet to your Nemo actions configuration.
  3. Usage: Select multiple images in Nemo, right-click, and choose the "Crear pdf" option from the context menu.

Code:

[Nemo Action]
Name[es]=Crear PDF
Name[en]=Create PDF
Name[de]=PDF erstellen
Name[fr]=Créer un PDF
Name[it]=Crea PDF
Name[pt]=Criar PDF
Name[ru]=Создать PDF
Name[zh]=创建PDF
Name[ja]=PDFを作成する
Name[ar]=إنشاء ملف PDF
Comment[es]=Crea un pdf con varias imágenes.
Comment[en]=Create a pdf form image files.
Comment[de]=Erstellt ein PDF aus Bilddateien.
Comment[fr]=Crée un PDF à partir de fichiers image.
Comment[it]=Crea un PDF da file immagine.
Comment[pt]=Criar um PDF a partir de arquivos de imagem.
Comment[ru]=Создание PDF из файлов изображений.

definition file should have different entry for "Selection"

Intel

Action name and maintainer

calculate-md5sum@schorschii @schorschii

What happened?

When you open the context menu at empty space in Nemo, you find the entry for calculate-md5sum. This is due to the definition "Selection=any". This should be "Selection=notnone" instead.

Action Feature Request - ok button as default

Action name and maintainer

move-into-a-new-folder@anaximeno @anaximeno

What would you like to see?

Thanks for sharing this useful action!

Steps

  1. select items to group
  2. Right click and use "move into a new folder"
  3. A dialog will pop up and ask us to confirm with Ok or to cancel our action.

Issue

Well, the OK button isn't highlighted / set to default, therefore we have to use a mouse to find and press the OK button.

Expected result

It would be much quicker to use the "enter" or "return" key on our keyboard.

make folder with selected filesAction Feature Request

Action name and maintainer

calculate-md5sum@schorschii @schorschii

What would you like to see?

Please make a Cinnamon action to enable "make folder with selected files" function which is easily available in other distros like Gnome Fedora etc. I would be extremely grateful.
Sincerely,
Rafal

quick-desktop-entry Feature Request Do not move .AppImage

Action name and maintainer

quick-desktop-entry@yfabrik @yfabrik

What would you like to see?

@yfabrik Thank you for this Action. Can you remove the automatic moving of an .AppImage to the ~/Applications folder? I wasn't expecting this to happen, and thought the tool deleted my appimage. It took a few minutes to figure out what the heck happened. I had the file in the folder that I wanted. I was expecting the tool to either A) Create the desktop entry on the desktop and change nothing else B) Create the desktop entry in the current folder and do nothing else.

My suggestion would be A) Create the shortcut in the same directory or desktop and do nothing else or B) Ask if I would like to move the file to ~/Applications folder if it must do so for technical reasons.

Thank you for your generous contribution!

Zenity was better than Actions UI

move-into-a-new-folder@anaximeno @anaximeno

What happened?

Hi @anaximeno, thanks for your work providing Cinnamon actions! Unfortunatedly, your new Actions UI, as far as it is now, has some flaws zenity didn't have. For example, you can't press enter in the entry field to trigger a click to the OK button, you always have to use the mouse or click TAB two times before pressing enter. It'd be great if you could add a trigger-default attribute or something like that GTK allows you to use so pressing enter in the entry will trigger the default button of the dialog.
Moreover, the window content needs to be centered and/or at least have some margin. Just look at the screenshot comparing a sample zenity dialog with your current AUI dialog.

Send as attachment isn't working with Thunderbird

AMD Radeon 6600 XT

Action name and maintainer

send-as-attachment@rcalixte @rcalixte

What happened?

When I right click file on desktop (test file was .ods file) and select "Send as attachment", nothing happens.

If I open terminal on desktop and enter "xdg-email --attach file.ods" it opens Thunderbird compose window with file attached.

For my locale desktop folder name has space " " and that's probably root of this issue. Test with custom folder in $home called "Test 2" and it's also not working because of space in folder name.
