Change WINAPI exists functions to support common Windows device paths
GetFileAttributesW and GetFileAttributesA do not support Windows device paths, such as \\.\C: extend the function to support Windows device paths.
Try open? Still need to be able to tell somehow that the device file exists.
make check not working on RHEL7: bash 4.2.46
Hello,
the checks, specifically tests/test_library.sh fails on RHEL7 due to some shell script compatibility issue (bash version 4.2.46).
Instead of running the cfile_test_file with each one of the files in input/set1, it runs:

On platforms with newer bash (like Fedora 40) it also doesn't do what was intended. It runs just with one file:
$ ./test_library.sh

libcfile_file.c line 1986
This line says: "&& ( read_count < 0 )" although read_count can never be less than 0 (it's unsigned!).
Check FSCTL_ALLOW_EXTENDED_DASD_IO
Check if FSCTL_ALLOW_EXTENDED_DASD_IO provides access to last sectors of a Windows volume device. Also see: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa364556(VS.85).aspx
missing test file
Missing test executable: ./cfile-20170105_test_write.exe
Maybe it's built on windows? I have linux.
