I noticed that in a way, while using youtube-dl for my very specific efforts, my work could also maybe be seen as an extension of youtube-dl's functionality. it has plugin-style download options for many websites, including facebook, but the facebook part not covering my work. so i should work out wether it's worth it to switch this whole project over to https://github.com/rg3/youtube-dl

besides an integration into youtube-dl, this seems the easiest way to expand functionality with a few simple tweaks

we should change the command syntax to allow options to be passed to youtube-dl

i commented out lines 261-264 in fbsounds.pl because it caused a program termination in one case where youtube-dl returned this errcode because of some incosistency. maybe we will just need to rely on the user pressing ctrl-z to abort fbsounds.

we should have the option to not download the playlist following an entry in the links database.

As described. this could be handled way more memory efficient by recalling it depending on wether there is a next page, in a loop.

There should be a inherent feature that only new videos will get downloaded.
This could be realized for example with a ./fbsounds/.1213128931 file.

An option that only searches for and displays installed audio codecs to be used in conjunction with youtube-dl

We should have the ability to min-filter downloads based on the uploads' quality
