cnc-machine-v3's Issues

Z axis rises a few millimeters on my cnc

Hello, I love your work. I built a cnc based on the V3 model. It works very well and your 3D design is great. I would like to share a malfunction on the Z axis on my cnc. I don't know if I'm the only one who has it or if you already have it. This could also be an editing problem on my part. Indeed, the Z axis (the threaded rod) sometimes rises a few millimeters when the cutter does not fit sufficiently into the wood, which makes engraving or cutting ineffective. Have you ever had this problem? Did you solve it? There is in fact no anti-return system for the threaded rod at the pulley level on the z axis. everything stays in place just by weight? Thanks for your help

Some Questions to Machine v3

Hi, I'm currently building the CNC V3 and found some Issues.

  1. The belts on Y-Axis cannot be adjusted, when fully assambled the X/Y-Axis because the Steppers are not raechable from below.
  2. The Z-Axis Motor touches the upper rail when Using the 30 Teeth Pulleys.
  3. The most important Issue is selfmade. I built the mechanics on my Modeling Workbench with 1800 x 600 mm and the Steel-Rails are bending a bit. I'm affraid (or pretty shure) that it becomes worse when adding Dust collection. Any Idea how to fix this?

Fusion360 Model

You mention you designed with Fusion360, but I only seem to find the FreeCad models. I'm not familiar with FreeCad (yet) and am wondering if there's another location where the Fusion360 models are.
I justed started playing with FreeCad, and it seems very similar to Fusion360. However, I need to make a few modifications to the designs and am not able to get to the "sketch" for the bodies in FreeCad. I'm sure that I'm overlooking some magic in FreeCad but did not find out yet.
Any chance you can upload the Fusion360 models (or share on the A360 cloud) or give me the magic sequence in FreeCad to make some updates to the design?

Thanks.

Question: Which screws sizes and lengths are needed!

Hi,
I have a question about the cnc but in advance the router I like very well and I have decided to convert my Mpcnc to a router of its type. Unfortunately, I do not know what screws I need for it I would not necessarily buy half the hardware store to find the right screws. Could you maybe say something more specific so I can buy these screws then.

Thanks for your efforts.

Fusion 360 or STEP files

Even though STL files are adequate for 3D printing, I'd really appreciate if there was an easier way to view and edit the parts. I've noticed that you use Fusion 360 for the design work, and if you're okay with it, I think it would be a great help for everyone if you could either share a Fusion 360 public link for the project (preferable option), or alternatively export STEP files for each part.

STL files are just approximations of the original design, made up of many triangles. There's no feature history or any truly curved surface. Working with them is honestly really difficult, beyond just sticking them into a slicer program.

If you're not sure how to share a Fusion 360 design, there are instructions on the Autodesk website. (Of course, the CC BY-NC-SA license these models are protected under, would still be followed. In case you're worried about that.)

I'm planning to make a CNC machine using your design, and this improved accessibility to the design would greatly help me and I bet others would appreciate it too.

Add 4th axis to the CNC

Hi,

You performed a great job by building this CNC. I really loved it. Congrats on that.

An idea I had while seeing your video is why don't add a 4th axis to the CNC and allow build relly complex objects.
I'm sure that many people (including myself) would patron that development.

Best regards

Bom

Seen the video, love it, maybe want to do one myself. Any chance you will create a bom with all the parts?
