niohresolution's Issues

NiohResolution download registering as Trojan

Unsure why this is happening, 2 weeks later, but it is. This is the error it's giving me:

Trojan:Win32/Fuerboos.A!cl

Do not currently have a solution, and I refuse to play with a giant black border all around my screen, or a screen that exceeds the size of my monitor... 1600x900 = 1680x1050 in full screen, and in borderless it's a box with my desktop showing all around by about 3 to 5 inches. 1920x1080 far exceeds the borders of my screen and therefore is unplayable as well. I had it set to Borderless 1824x1026 (yes, strange resolution, but I had to slightly underscan to make it fit my TV, which is my monitor).

Don't know what to do. Please help.

Random partial black screen when fighting

Sometimes the screen turns partially black while fighting enemies and freezes, never happened before applying the patch. Have tried on 2 PCs, same problem.

Both PC uses 21:9 monitor, one 2560x1080 and another 3440x1440

Whats FMV MAGIC1?

tried to use the use the aspect ratio patch and got this
Patching FMV's...
-> FMV_MAGIC1 expected True, but got False!
-> Patching failed, rolling back changes...
i imagine this becaue of something on my side of things so what am i missing thats caused this?

Crash

After getting to install successfully the game kept crashing upon killing a Yokai demon - each time the game would crash just as I stuck the killing blow.

I restored the .bak (changed nothing else) and it stopped crashing there

EGS 21:9 resolution issue

Patching completes successfully, but game is pillarboxed while 1920x1080 is selected in menu (although monitor OSD correctly detects 2560x1080 resolution). Pillarboxes appear up to 3840x2160 resolution, on this resolution pillarboxes no longer appear but the performance hit is extreme (not adequate to 2560x1080).

I'm probably being a big ol dumb dumb dummy...
But where is the exe?

"patching failed" Error message.

Hello
I got the following error message from the NiohResolution.exe while patching:

Please enter your desired resolution.

-> Width [default = 1920]: 3440
-> Height [default = 1080]: 1440

Please enter a scale for your desired render resolution.

Keep in mind that this scale:

  • Has no effect on the entered resolution.
  • Has no effect on the in-game UI.
  • Can be less than 1.0 to increase performance.

Patching resolution to 3440x1440 with scale set to 1.0...
-> PATTERN_ASPECTRATIO1 expected 1, but got 0!

Patching failed, consider restoring a backup and try again.

I tried it again with a new installation of Nioh but got still this message.

Does not work on version 1.24.1

The new game patch 1.24.1 has broken the functionality. Could you please release a version compatible with the latest Nioh release?

Custom FOV

Nioh's default FOV looks a bit narrow (60-70 degrees?) and there's no option to change it unfortunately. :(
I was wondering if you can add support for using a custom FOV value with your tool? Or if you know some way to change it manually. Thanks!

v1.4.0 feedback

Please leave feedback for v1.4.0 in this topic, mostly interested in the situations where people have to select a resolution other than 1920x1080 and still get the positive result they expect.

Please report:

  • Version of the game (Steam/EGS)
  • Patched resolution/scale
  • Resolution selected in the launcher
  • (Maximum) native desktop/monitor resolution

I dunno what Im doing wrong

Hi Lennard, how are u, fine? Im using the original(cracked) Nioh.exe(its a pirated version)and the process doesnt even begin. Ill send the Image of the issue and the game files here.
. I have executed both exes in admin mode and Nioh.exe is not in read only. In other order, u mention the possibility of using DSR on it; the way to use it is entering 1.1+in scale? Thnx in advance!

save file not working

Version of the game- Epic game store
Patched resolution/scale-1366x768
Resolution selected in the launcher-1920x1080
(Maximum) native desktop/monitor resolution -1920x1080

Game runs fine with new resolution but now it cant save.
It keeps saying something like cannot write to savefile0.
This occurs in every option that evokes an autosave.

Nioh was not running, I think windows just prevented it from being modified

HUD not moving to side of screen

First off, thank you for the resolution patch! It is much appreciated for 2560x1080. Now that I'm in game with this, I find my HUD is still set for 1920x1080. Is it easy/fixable in the .exe to move this to the actual edge of my screen?

Patch Failed NiohResolution 1.3

Hi There,

I have Niohresolution 1.3 installed and am trying to get Nioh to run at 3440x1440 (21:9) but am running into this.

I didn't get the game from Steam but from Epic Games a couple of days ago. What am I doing wrong? I have Niohresoultion directly in the Nioh folder along with the original Nioh.exe file that came with the game.

Steamdeck Compatbility

Hello,

Tried the 1.5.0 patch, the patch can be applied but the game won't run after:
First the launcher pop-up but then the game won't start (nothing happen)

Since i'm doing it on a steam deck i don't know if someone can help.

Can increase 1440x900 resolution changes?

When I use 1920x1080 resolution, the game often crashes. Using the 1440x900 into the game does not crash.
Can you add a patch that modifies 1440x900 resolution? Thank you very much.
