Does not reproduce for me with kwin 6.0.5 and fractional scaling on
either AMD or Intel GPUs. Likely an issue with your GPU drivers, which I
would guess are NVIDIA. I suggest using linux_display_server x11 till
they get fixed.

Not sure what a VM would achienve. In order to run kitty you have to
passthrough the GPU into the VM anyway. Try running with --debug-render
that might give us some more useful information.

I'm not sure what to run with --debug-render, kitty doesn't seem to have that option.
I forgot to mention in the original issue that the bug only occurs when scaling is set under 100%.

And not surprised scales under 1 are not tested/supported. Maybe someday
I will get around to adding support but its not a priority, in the

I thought they were, it was working perfectly until recently.

There was no fractional scaling support until 0.34.0. If it was working
it would be because the compositor was doing the scaling itself.
