Check to see if the routing is too too big/small for angle cutters?

Add a voltage divider across the battery and run it into an A/D channel to determine when the battery is getting low. If the battery is low, then a special pattern can be flashed to notify the user before the system acts erratically due to power brown outs.

Not sure if a pull-up is required, but better to add a position than brick the ISP

Change 12V LED drive transistor from FMMT918 to AO3416. Pinout is same. Change is need to support higher current and we need to use FET, since there is no current limiting resistor on the base (gate)

Write code to drive emitters at the appropriate frequency, preferably with PWM.

Implement A/D routines to read ambient level from photo resistor and adjust "off" brightness level

Surface mount pads will be easier to solder to and won't require a 90 hard degree turn when mounting.

This way the analog receive circuitry is power directly from the micro so that it can be turned off to conserve power.

Would it be worth inserting a position for a reverse battery protection diode?

Add another photodiode with a big cap on the main board, route to ADC (pin 2?)

Find suitable alternative parts (if available) for the most expensive components in the BOM:
-rx opamp
-rx comparator
-peak track FETs

Tie all gates to same pin on uC (free up pin for receive circuitry power control)

The current 6-pin programming header hole spacing is metric, but should be 0.1" to match the mating connector.
