Jonathan, I realize this is outdated now, but I'm looking to do a similar thing with free and paid addons, through my platform BLENDERender.com
Would this be something you would be interested in building? I'd be happy to discuss more details, compensation, or profit share with you.
My long term goal is to build the 'assets store' of Blender, where users can automatically get free addons, install, upgrade, uninstall and manage, as well as have access to all of their paid addons. I have other long term plans as well, but I'll leave it at that for now.
