Hi, welcome to my Github! 🤓

I'm a journalist and developer who works as a journalist at Norway's #1 news site for developers, kode24.no. I have more than 30 years experience as an IT journalist and editor (PC World, Tek.no, Digi.no, DN.no), and have also experience as a senior communications advisor and content producer.

I have been interested in coding since I got my first computer - a Commodore 64. Actually, I got my first job by writing a 6510 assembly course for a computer magazine, and did some hobby projects in Turbo Pascal and C during the late 80s and early 90s. Good times...

Now I'm coding in Javascript, TypeScript, HTML and CSS – sometimes trying out new programming languages like Swift. I have focused mostly on React.js - and React based frameworks like Next.js.

I am also building web sites for clients through my own company Lekanger tekst og kode

Show featured images on blog posts

If a Wordpress post has a featured image, the image should be shown on the front page (in the postPreviewGrid.js component). The featured image should also be shown on top of the post pages (update the post.js template in the templates folder).

Sitemetadata in SEO component should be retrieved from Wordpress

The sitemetadata used in the SEO component (/components/seo.js) is fetched from Gatsby, not from the Wordpress site. The GraphQL query should be replaced with a query that fetches the site metadata from the Wordpress GraphQL API instead.

Important for SEO.

Not receiving excerpt from WP after upgrading to WP 5.5

After upgrading WP to version 5.5, the graphql queries does not receive automatic excerpts for each post. Seems like other users of WPGraphQL also have this problem: wp-graphql/wp-graphql#1430

This is something that probably have to be fixed by WPGraphQL.

Manual excerpts works as expected (Wordpress uses automatic excerpts when there is no manual excerpt)

Add archive link on front page

Not possible to view more than the 6 first posts. Add an archive or "more posts" link on the front page to view the rest of the posts.
