Project Requirements

  • Users can register with a username and a password
  • Users can login with a username and a password
  • Users logged in can log out
  • Create import.py
    • Create necessary tables with correct columns and relationships
  • Users logged in are redirected to search page
    • Search by ISBN
    • Search by Title
    • Search by Author
    • Handle not found searches
  • Book results redirect users to book page
    • Display title, author, publication year and ISBN
    • Display book review by all users
    • Display average rating and number of ratings from Goodreads
  • Users logged in can submit reviews on book page
    • A rating scale of 1 to 5
    • A text segment
    • Constraint: 1 review per book per user
  • Provide API access to book data in JSON on route /api/<isbn>
    • Include title, author, year, isbn, review_count, average_score
    • Return 404 error for invalid ISBN
  • Constraint: use only raw SQL commands (via SQLAlchemy execute)
  • Describe project and each file in README.md
  • Ensure all required Python packages are in requirements.txt
