obsidian-ukiyo's Introduction

Ukiyo

Welcome to Ukiyo, an Obsidian theme which main focus is to ease your eyes while using this amazing app, reducing the unnecessary empty spaces from UI elements so that you can have more room for the important stuff: your notes.

Style Settings

  • Modes - Change the way the UI is displayed. Note that you can't use both modes, you have to disable one in order to use the other.
    • Smooth mode - Creates space between the different elements.
    • Minimal mode - Compacts the interface and hides most elements.
  • Color Scheme - Change the color palette used.
    • Selector - Choose between the already existing color schemes.
    • Custom - If you choose the custom option from the selector, a list of options will appear that lets you create your own color scheme for the theme.
  • Pop Out Callout - Whenever you use a pop-out callout and you switch between source view to reading view, all the pop-out callout will play a slide-out animation. You can turn that off by changing the value to 0.
  • Floating Sides - The side panels will appear above all other elements of the interface.

obsidian-ukiyo's Issues

Side dock ribbon artifact in partially hidden mode

When the side dock is set to partially hidden there is an artifact of what appears to be a part of the separator line left over; when the side dock is not actively being viewed, as shown here:

Unreadable text in certain dropdowns

I absolutely adore this theme! I use Golden-Book in dark mode, but unfortunately the text in certain dropdown menus in Obsidian's settings and, for example, when getting autofill of vault contents, are unreadable/have very low contrast:

[FEATURE REQUEST] different themes for Light and Dark modes

Give the option to use a different theme for Light and Dark modes.
For example, I like Golden Coffee for the Light mode and Ukiyo for the Dark mode. I have Obsidian set to change automatically from Light to Dark as per my OS system settings. It would great if, when my computer changes from one to the other, my Obs theme changes as well.

Nice theme, please continue with it

This is shaping up to be a nice theme, you should really try to complete it. Well ……… what is complete, it never is, I guess, but you know what I mean.

I think I might like the dark version even better than the light one, that's personal, of course.
Well done so far! Keep up the good work.

Improve UI aesthetic/readability

Hi guys.

I has updated the latest version before, but the UI experience of the latest version is very bad. So I had to roll back to the previous version.
Specifically, the latest version of UI layout is too complicated for comfort. If possible, I suggest further simplifying the theme and optimizing the color scheme, but not hiding the icon or adding a bit of messy lines and boxes.

Settings icon

Hi kinmury,
Thank you for beautiful and juice theme...I come across one thing, settings icon is partially hidden. Please see screenshot.
Looking forward for updated theme version. Thanks

Changing Colour Scheme

Hi!

I am an absolute imbecile who does not know how to code but love the theme. How do I access the different colour schemes (e.g. Academy)?

Thanks!

Little question about the UI icons

This is the most amazing theme I've encountered so far, smooth and comfortable, except for a few (though not too much) UI hiccups, I was wondering if you guys are also experiencing these issues, or do you have any solutions? Thank you very much

  1. the “Expand” and“Open quick switcher”icons overslap
    HOZTUK8~9OVIJ RVRXQD}Q6
  2. half of the "Setting" icons is covered by edge
    RSIBJTESO9C8Z%MYE32YC9F
  3. little of the "File" icon is coverd by edge
    J~P57(6G0DA U(DU$8)H5Z0
my obsidian version is v.1.0.3,and my Ukiyo(legacy) version is v1.0.37.
    Thanks again

Way to change the text on the background with no windows open?

See title. I thought the image attached that was the default image if no windows were open was pretty charming, but I was curious if I would be able to change it to something else. I am quite poor at coding and don't know where I would go to modify it.
