kparser's Issues

Player melee damage being randomly ignored.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Begin default parse before popping the ZNM mob Nuhn.
2. Stop the parse after Nuhn is defeated. Rename the file.
3. Repeat for several pops of Nuhn.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Each parse of each Nuhn fight seemed to drop the melee damage from a random
player. In the first parse, Misha (MNK) and Giron (WAR) had their melee
damage at 0, even though that wasn't the case at all.

In the other parses different melee seemed to suffer from this. in the
second parse Rieckman (SAM) had his melee at 0, and Misha's was recorded fine.

There are some value's I'm a little skeptical of. For example Beanbean
(THF)on the first Nuhn parse reported only dealing 815 damage in melee
damage. This could very well be true, but only if Beanbean spent most of
the time out of the fight. With other players being entirely ignored, I
began to suspect these low values as well.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
When the parses were made, it was with 1.3.8.0.

I loaded the parses into the new 1.3.9.0 and tried reparsing the data with
no luck (I don't know if that would have done any good though). If this is
a subtle side effect of a problem you just recently fixed with 1.3.9.0,
then please disregard.

Please provide any additional information below.
Thanks for the prompt response and fixing of the buffs issue! This is a
great project.

1. Run 2 clients at once.
2. Start KParser.
3. Start a parse.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I get the data from one client, but have no control over which.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Kparser not parsing any information such as chat, damage, buffs, etc

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. run program as admin with .NET and SQLCE
2. update memlock
3. start parse

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected to see parsed data, instead no data is parsed, nothing shows

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Incorrect tracking of NIN nukes, summation.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Get on NIN 40+
2. Find a monster.
3. Elemental Wheel.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Doesn't track all of the nukes. Even after multiple full wheels, the
parser will not register all spells (usually shows 3 of the 6). The
frequency of the registered spells is incorrect.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
10.6.1, XP SP2.

Please provide any additional information below.
Seems to count nin spells correctly, but not actually display the spells
correctly. Example: If I do 3 wheels, Kparser will recognize that I casted
18 ninjutsu spells, but underneath that only list 3 of the 6 spells, and
only 1 of the 3 listed spells has the correct frequency of 3.

Sorry, I haven't dl'd 10.7 yet, maybe this is fixed in that version.

Not parsing anymore

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Launch parsing (default or to specific file)
2. Using the up-to-date memory offset
3. Play the game as usual

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Should parse my actions as usual. Status goes to "Parsing to ...", but
nothing is displayed whatever the tab.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I was using v1.3.8 which was working fine a few weeks ago. Tried to update
with v1.3.9 but same problem. OS is WinXP Pro SP2.

Please provide any additional information below.

Kparser does not display anything

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Installed and fully updated Windows 7 RC Beta Build 7100
2. Installed and fully updated FFXI
3. Downloaded & extracted latest version of Kparser
4. Checked to make sure Microsoft Framework latest was installed, it is.
5. Downloaded and installed SQLCE both versions.
6. Checked to make sure memory address was correct.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The program opens with no errors. However, it does not display any
information, not even chat. Under options I have 'specify process when
starting' checked, and when I got File>Begin Parse, and I click the FFXI
process, nothing shows up while talking or fighting.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Kparser version 1.3.9 on Windows 7 64bit RC Beta Build 7100

Please provide any additional information below.
I also use the latest version of Windower and most of the default
plugins. I have tried disabling Timestamp too, but that did not fix it.

Japanese Text isn't recorded in the chat log

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Start the parser.
2. Find a JP Player.
3. Make him/her talk.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Chat will list any Japanese characters as ???? instead of the proper
kana/kanji. The FFXI log files do have the correct Japanese in them.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Change to a Level 75 BLM walk to West Sarutabaruta [S]
2. Find two Tiny Lycopodium then use Thundaga III
3. Look at parse Offense Tab

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The Thundaga III spell should have the second damage. The Spell dmg only
shows only the first damage total.

Feature request: filter for # Melee Attacks/Rounds @ "Extra Attacks" tab

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Any Parse
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
@ "Extra Attacks" tabs, i see, under "Basic Data", the "# number of melee
attacks" and "#melee rounds", but both apparently applies to ANY mobs
fought during the parsing timeframe.
I was expecting behing able to use some filter button (like in "Offense"
tab) to select - for example - "Greater Colibri (144)" so Kparser displays
# of melee attacks/rounds done ONLY on this type of mob. Instead, Kparser
displays total # melee attacks/rounds, so i can't know :
a. how much swings one person did
b. how much is real "fight time" for each person on the total and average
fight time displayed on "Experience" tab. For example, in a merit PT, avg
Gcoli fight time revolve around 30secs, but in reality, since at least 3
melees on it, each melee fought actually lot less (very roughly 1/3 of
30secs).
This would help proving/debunking haste and delay reduction stuff for
example.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.3.8 but doesnot matter it s a request feature, if possible.

Please provide any additional information below.
i didnot find any more indept documentation regarding some stats on the
wiki, like for example the # hits displayed on Offense tab, took me some
time to figure out it's actually normal+critedhits.
Other than that, and the requested feature above, this tool is wonderful
on debunking my ffxi dmg calculator and ProjectXI. Keep up the good work.

Best regards,
Masamunai@Hades

New puppet weaponskills are listed as "Ability Damage".

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Deploy the puppet on a mob.
2. Use one of the new puppet weaponskills.

What is the expected output?
They should be listed as "Weaponskill Damage".

What do you see instead?
They're listed as "Ability Damage". I assume it's the default and it just
hasn't been updated yet.

The new weaponskills are named:
Armor Piercer
Bone Crusher
Magic Mortar

Have problem with recording 10k damage

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go as Ranger to Qufim Mandy fight
2. If your gear is good you can do 10k damage
3. http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/51/img20090507170525.png

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected the Parser to record the damage, instead it ignored it.

Under highest damage for WS it listed "0/9966" instead of "9966/10203"

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
KParser 1.3.8.0
Windows 7 RC1

I included the saved data for the fight.

Parser doesn't start unless "read existing logs" is marked.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Kparser.
2. Make sure "read existing log files" is unchecked.
3. Start a parse.

At first I thought it might simply be some sort of lag or similar problem,
however for whatever reason, a new parse will NOT start (I've waited upto
an hour) if "read existing log files" is unchecked. Once I check that box,
works just fine.

Must Maximize to view parser, Parser Will not Parse

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Load KParser
2. Give Permission to run
3. KParser seems to be Minimized to Task Bar
4. Left Click on KParser in the Task bar, nothing appears to happen.
5. Right Click KParser, select Maximize KParser displays as maximzed.
6. Click the resize button (not sure if thats the proper name, the one
between the minimize and close when the window is already maximized at the
top right of the window), KParser behaves as though I minimized it.
7. Maximize KParser again, begin parsing.
8. No Parsing occurs (no party chat, damage, buffs, etc)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The Parser should be able to viewed unmaximized, and should be able to
properly parse.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows Vista 64bit
Tried using versions 1.3.7 and 1.3.4

Please provide any additional information below.

SSCERuntime-ENU-x64.msi does not setup on Windows 7 Ultimate

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. download SSCERuntime-ENU-x64.msi as specified under the system
requirements in the readme file
2. double click the SSCERuntime-ENU-x64.msi to begin setup
3. click "Run"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

expected output is for setup to run (as it did for the
SSCERuntime-ENU-x86.msi) and it installs the program. instead, i see an
error message saying the following: This installation package is not
supported by this processor type. Contact your product vendor.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

attempting to run KParser 1.3.9 on Windows 7 Ultimate

Please provide any additional information below.

the processor type is an AMD A64 X2 7850 dual core processor, if my
processor actually has anything to do with this problem

Improper tracking of buffs

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Alliance of 18 in Dynamis-Taznavia
2. Long term parsing of the full event.
3. WHM and SCH abilities used. Haste spell on self and others.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
For Buffs Tab, under "Buffs Used", I saw that some buffs are missed. In my
attached example, the player Callidor has all of his castings of "Haste"
listed an the players he used them on. The players Merim and Misha only
have haste tracked for when it was casted on themselves. They casted on
others in the event.

This can be seen if looking under "Buffs Received". The player Foulu is an
example of the parser correctly showing that Merim, Misha and Auburn casted
haste on Foulu.

"Buffs Received" has another problem where randomly abilities will register
as buffs to other players.

Examples:
Foulu recieved Assassin's Charge from Shredder
Foulu recieved Accession from Elaandri
Ironx recieved Composure from Figbaash
Auburn recieved Afflatus Misery Merim

There are many other examples.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

I apologize for the extremely large parse to use as an example. It is the
only parse I have that exhibits all the issues I've been experiencing in a
single parse.

another problem with HELM tracking.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Go Mining
2. look at the parse vs what you dig up

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
i expected it to give me an accurate running total of my digs, but it looks
like it is failing to read one of the ways that the game displays the
results. i think it's the "you get this but your that breaks" since i had
one of those and my break total went up, but my dig total did not.
something isn't being parsed right.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

A lot of issues.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Starting parsing, parses for first 20 seconds, then nothing else shows
up after that.
2. Stop parsing
3. Open tools, then press Ok gets the message :

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Not parsing Dancer abilities correctly

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. When using a DNC's Steps and/or flourishes, only displays misses on
Offense tab
2. Does not parse flourishes correctly as buffs/debuffs/offense abilites
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Would expect on the offense screen to see #/# for hits/misses respectively
for steps and flourishes instead of 0/# for misses only.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Current version on Windows Vista Home Premium

Please provide any additional information below.
Would be nice to have a DNC tab much like the Thief tab that displays DNC
specific info such as steps and debuff levels "Mob receives weakened dace
(Lv. 5)" along with successful Violent Flourish stuns which don't always
proc stun.

While parser is active, seems to only pick up certain data, or pick up data > stop picking up data > Start

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Loading parser, with all 3.5 SQL etc downloaded (Details in the readme)
2. Starting parse, (Updated Memloc)
3. Playing FFXI with NO chat filters

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Sometimes the information is displayed as it should, but as said in the
Summary it is random and stops and starts at seemingly random times. For
example I parsed at einherjar just now and some damage/chat log showed and
some didn't, also when back in Bastok nothing in showing in chat.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest 1.4.0 version on XP SP3

Please provide any additional information below.
Just it's totally random at picking up damage/chat log, and I have no idea
why, i've done everything correctly it seems, also turning off time-stamp
as some forums suggested, any help is welcome and appreciated.

Puppet ranged attack misses are incorrectly classified as "debuffs".

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Deploy a sharpshot (ranger) puppet on a mob.
2. Wait until a ranged attack misses.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Ranged attack misses are not listed under "Ranged Damage", so the puppet's
"R.Acc %" will always be 100%. All misses are improperly classified as a
"Debuff" named "Ranged Attack".

Ranged misses will also show up as a miss under the puppet's total ability
misses for the "Ability Damage" category of the "Offense" tab.

For some reason, nullDelimitedChatLines.Split is leaving the trailing null
on the last line if maxLinesToRead is specified. This seems to be related
in the change from using PtrToStringUni to PtrToStringAnsi; looking back in
the change history I see that kparser used to use PtrToStringAnsi a while
back, and then it passed maxLinesToRead+1. Making that change fixes this bug.

Patch attached.

Framerate slows down over time (20-30 minutes) while parsing.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run the parser for 20-30 minutes

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Final Fantasy XI slows to a crawl. When parsing was stopped, framerate
immediately went from 1 (bad) back to 30 (to which the game is locked).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.1.5 on Windows XP, 2 GHz AMD Athlon64 (3200), 1GB RAM.

Please provide any additional information below.
This felt like a side-effect of using SQL to manage the database. If
possible I was hoping for an option to adjust the frequency with which the
parser writes back new records to disk. Perhaps it could cache 100, 1000,
10k, 100k entries and then write everything to the database at once, or
even disable writing the entries until parsing is stopped. Even if this
means that stats displayed during parsing are inaccurate or unavailable,
that seems better than only being able to run the parser for about 20 mins
max.

The problem seemed to grow more and more significant over time, implying
that the size of the database rather than the rate at which data is coming
in is responsible. Perhaps the database is being indexed in a fashion
which requires portions of it to be shifted as new data comes in.

Love the project!

H.E.L.M. activity results not parsed

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Results from crafting are not parsed (correctly).
2. Results from logging are not shown.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd expect Synthesis and logging results to be parsed, but they are not.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.7.1, Windows XP SP3

Please provide any additional information below.
(Same issue might occur for mining, harvesting, fishing, chocobo digging,
gardening)

Synthesis failure listed as Item Drops.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Do synthesis until you fail and lose items.
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd expect to see nothing, since success isn't parsed either.
Instead, items lost due to failure show up as Item Drops (while success
does not)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 1.0.7.1, Windows XP SP3

Please provide any additional information below.

Kparser breaks the log and "party, linkshell, tell" tabs

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Run Kparser using log files and read existing
2. Parse for a while
3. Try to scroll back the log or view the party/tell/linkshell/etc tabs.

There is a work around for this.

If, before parsing, I go to the TEMP dir and delete all of the existing
log files and then start the parse, this does not happen. However, if mid-
party I decide to start a parse, it will break the log.

Cannot update Options

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open Tools in Menu
2. Selection Options
3. Changing Memory offset Address

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I would expect the options setting to be saved by clicking on okay.
Instead, it does nothing.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.6.0

Please provide any additional information below.

Damage on damage details not showing on colidated info

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Larger Parse File: IE: J.Lo / Kirin / Einherjar
2. Many members. Full alliance +

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected damage totals to include all damage output from all members
under the Offense tab. This was not the case. There were individuals in
the Damage: Details tab who were not included in the consolidated information.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Vista 32.

Please provide any additional information below.
Please see Neosutra in the attached parse file, dealing damage to J.Lo in
the details via Shield bash and Atonement. Yet he will not be in the
damage totals.
