ava-config's Introduction

ava-config

If you're using the config package in your project, you might have run into an issue with ava where your config is not required from the right directory, due to how ava is changing process.cwd to be the dir of each test.

Prerequiring this package will automagically set NODE_ENV=test and NODE_CONFIG_DIR=closest/config/default.yml

Usage

$ npm install --save-dev ava-config

Add to your package.json

  {
    ...
    "ava": {
      "require": [
        "ava-config"
      ]
    }
  }

ava-config's Issues

Unused dependencies

The dependencies should be devDependencies only and should be removed from the production dependencies list:

 "dependencies": {
    "kn-release": "^1.0.1",
    "standard": "^6.0.8"
 }

This leads to an unnecessarily large dependency graph.

What if the config file isn't called default.yml?

I noticed that you hard-coded default.yml.

I use a different feature of config to load confiugration files based on the environment variable name.

So whereas my test files are called development.json and test.json, this module doesn't pick them up.

Is this something you're interested in supporting? Thanks.
