@horfee Thanks for your contribution. I did import it in Kicad and had to set the offset and rotation:
Rotation X: -90°
Offset X: 1.5mm
Offset Y: 3mm
Maybe you might setup the zero-point of your design accordingly.
Have you considered colouring it?

The step provided is fusionned (useless).
I think this is the term, FreeCAD sees a single design.

There are several issues with this issue, including it being an issue instead of a pull request, but the model being fused is not one of them.
Still closing as the author apparently lost interest.
