This would probably be solvable when you inject your own etag service, this could then return the string with W\, or an ETag object with weak = true which in turns does the W\

Commit https://github.com/CumpsD/HttpCacheHeaders/commit/cc8ee8bf758e6be7d47994137e50985e0bd69c2d fixes the generation of weak etags by adding the W\ in front. Now the consumer only has to give us a valid ETag object, which has the Strong or Weak as an enum and we will deal with it
