Tasks:

• Extend xsearch-rest Flask app to get Google results via xgoogle in JSON format.
• Add support for memcached
  • Store results in memcached on successful query (without expire).
  • Get results from cache if the same query is used for a second time.
  • If memcached is not present, don't cache the results.

To install Flask:

sudo pip install flask

To run server:

./app.py

Testing:

Searching via POST

curl -i -H "Content-Type: application/json" -X POST -d '{"engine":"Google","query":"site:example.com"}' http://localhost:5000/xsearch/api/v1.0/search

This will send query "site:example.com" via Google.

• if engine is not specified, then use Google as default.
• if engine is not specified and Google fails, use the next one (Yahoo, Bing, etc.)
• if wrong engine is specified, return HTTP Error 400
• if all above fails, return the same error code as search engine, otherwise use 503

Getting cached results.

curl -i http://localhost:5000/xsearch/api/v1.0/cache

This will show all entries from cache for all queries.
