Since it's mature enough, it'd be convinient to require PHP 5.5+ and start returning DateTimeImmutable only. This involves a BC break, but for a good reason, we still have only a 0.* version anyway.

Roadmap

• extension for registering datetime as a service
• extend and make datetime immutable
• create date object
• create time object
• wrap that fucking interval thing that makes no sense
• locale formaters (using intl maybe?)

Because it's just not needed. DI extension should be in separate package (so Symfony Bundle could be as well).

• good for testing
• good for long running processes, like rabbitmq workers, which should have the time update on before every processed message

It's time to abandon this package in favor of Kdyby/DateTimeProvider which is going to receive 1.0.0 tomorrow. 🎉
