Separate core from GUI about gammaray HOT 4 CLOSED

What use-cases and features do you have in mind exactly? We are doing a lot of refactoring in the master branch at the moment to enable the out-of-process UI and remote debugging, some (so far internal) libraries have been created in the process already.

I wan't to automate the creation of screenshots and write some GUI tests.

I see. That's slightly out of scope for GammaRay itself though, since there are far better tools for this job out there already, such as Squish (http://www.froglogic.com/squish/).

If you want to build something like this nevertheless, the ongoing refactoring work to enable remote debugging and support for QCore/GuiApplications (instead of full QApplications) will probably get you a long way there. More tools have been turned into plug-ins, and all UI code will eventually be removed from the probe.
