Why it is worth to make an effort and publish site source code:

• Resilience: multiple people could make git clones without permission, and help to resurrect the site if anything happens with the current instance. When a few good people have backup keys it's not too bad, but open code is a huge step forward.
• Code published on GitHub would leverage its potential for contributions like in the case of dcrweb or dcrbounty
• The Treasury never before funded closed source software, except for unfortunate case of exchange integrations where the source could not be disclosed. There's even a bullet in the constitution about it: "All software developed as part of Decred shall be free and open source-software.".
• Having source code published would prevent any future concerns, boost legitimacy and support for the proposal, and could help to prolong it after initial 6 months.

I would suggest to publish site "code" and site "data" in separate repositories.

As @degeri noted, if the challenge is purely technical some of our developers could try to help with it.

Jumping from https://decredcommunity.org/ to Articles is an extra annoying click. Most content/news websites have the listing of recent content on the front page (root path). That would be a nice UX boost.
