gnome-shell-extension-stealmyfocus's Introduction

Steal My Focus - Gnome Shell Extension

Let windows steal focus. Removes the annoying 'Window is ready' notification and focus window immediately.

You can also specify a blacklist for annoying applications (eg. Skype).

gnome-shell-extension-stealmyfocus's Issues

Notification area appears briefly then disappears

When an application does something that triggers this extension (such as when I open a new tab in Firefox and this extension lets Firefox raise itself and become the active window), the notification area briefly appears and disappears (without any notification in it).

Whitelist instead of blacklist

I would like to allow certain applications to steal focus, while denying it to all others by default. It would be great if this extension would have an option to work with a whitelist instead of a blacklist.

This extension crashes the entire Gnome

Hello, I just discovered really surprising bug. I'm a web developer and I'm using PhpStorm editor. Some days ago I installed few Gnome extensions - Steal my focus was one of them. Suddenly Gnome started to crash really often so I tried to "debug" that and find out where is the problem. I really can't beliave it but I found out that Gnome crashes when I write statements like return NULL;. I tried it few more times - crash occurs after I type <shift>NU. I really don't know how is this possible. I tried to disable all of my extensions and then turned them on one by one so I found out that Gnome crashes due Steal my focus. I'm sorry but I'm "begginer" with Linux so I don't know which logs or other stuff should I provide - if you tell me I can post them here. I'm using Debian Wheezy with Gnome Shell (everything at most recent stable version).

Release under a free license?

Hello,

Thank you for this extension!

I'd like to package it for Debian, but for that it needs to be released under a free license, such as the GNU GPL.

Since you've already made the code public, would you be willing to release it under a free license?

Thanks.

Please tag a stable release

Hello,

This extension seems to be working fine for a lot of people. Could you tag a stable v1 release, please?

Thanks.

Fedora 18 Upgrade with 3.7.7 Broke it again

I had manually installed it and enabled it in tweak-tool but with the upgrade it's gone again.
How to get it working with latest Fedora 18?

ANSWERED: previously "shell-version" in metadata.json was set to include "3.6.2"

CHANGING IT to the more generic "3.6" is APPARENTLY what fixed it.

Gnome Shell 3.6.2 support

Could you please add support for GS 3.6.2?
I'm on Ubuntu Gnome Remix and i can't get your extension to work
