I've noticed that there are still black/grey icons in the Contacts pane within Gmail. Love this extension though!

I don't use Chrome, but I hate the grey icons just as much. The Chrome Store Foxified addon was of no help because Mozilla banned a JS library that the addon uses:

What you have so far looks great.

Can you add colored icons in the "compose window"?

Smiley could be yellow.
Chain link could be blue (hyperlink color)
"A" with a red line underneath
"T" with a colored background

etc.
