islandora_map_browse's Issues

Fatal error

When I'm in the Map Browser configure menu and I click the following "Browse Repository URL" link:

http://lis.hamilton.edu/islandora/search/mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_s:[* TO *]?type=edismax&solr_profile=MapView

I get the following fatal error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 72 bytes) in /home/lisham/public_html/sites/all/modules/islandora_map_browse/includes/IslandoraSolrResultsMapView.inc on line 29

I looks like this file is using up all my servers memory.

Coordinates element

I'm using Solr 4.2.0, GSearch 2.6, with DGI's basic-solr-search on Islandora 7.x.1-5.

I installed everything for islandora_map_browse, but I'm not getting pins on my maps.

Our Solr index stores the coordinates from our MODS in this element:

mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_s

not

mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_ms
[with the ending "_ms"]

Do I need to configure Solr so it has the "_ms" version?

I tried configuring the module to use the Solr field I have, but (with just "_s"), but I don't see any pins.

Thank you,
Peter

Info Bubble - ordering of fields and label display

In the configuration for the module these are the fields I've added to return from Solr -
PID, mods_titleInfo_title_ms, mods_abstract_ms
I've annotated a popup with some notes. Wondering how the fields can be ordered eg.

Configuring the module

John:

I've upgraded to Islandora HEAD (as of Jan 30, 2016) and using the latest DGI Solr Schema and am trying out the Islandora Map Browse module again.

Unfortunately,
I can't seem to locate a copy of Leaflet 0.7.3 anymore (as recommended in the Readme file), so I tried version 0.7.6, but with that version I can't get Map Browse to work -- though it's more likely than not that it's something I'm still not doing right myself.

Try:

http://sci-dev.dhinitiative.org/islandora/search/mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_ms%3A%5B*%20TO%20*%5D?type=edismax&solr_profile=MapView

1. I get as far a seeing the icons on the results page, but the map produced always uses the default coordinates with no pins.

  1. Also, the link View Geolocated Items throws red notice messages like this:

Notice: Undefined index: PID in prepareStaticMapGEOJSONConfig() (line 112 of /home/dhiham/public_html/sites/all/modules/islandora_map_browse/includes/IslandoraSolrResultsMapView.inc).
Notice: Undefined index: mods_titleInfo_title_s in prepareStaticMapGEOJSONConfig() (line 114 of /home/dhiham/public_html/sites/all/modules/islandora_map_browse/includes/IslandoraSolrResultsMapView.inc)
...

It DOES, however, show a map below these notices, but there are no pins.

3. Also the autogenerated "Browse Repository URL" shown at the top of the config menu page is this:

http://fedora.hamilton.edu:8080/islandora/search/mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_ms:[* TO *]?type=edismax&solr_profile=MapView

But that results in a 404 because "islandora/search" should not be matched together with "fedora.hamilton.edu:8080".

4. This one is just probably an out-of-date Readme file thing.
In the Solr Settings menu I see these two "Secondary display profiles":

  • Single page GeoJSON View
  • All Geojson

but the Readme file says the profiles are named as follows:

  • View All Results on Map
  • Paged Map View

I don't want to spend a lot of time struggling with the module, if I should be running only Leaflet 0.7.3.

Below is a screen print of my configuration page:

map-config

I guess my questions are:

  1. Do I need the specific Leaflet version 0.7.3?
  2. How do get rid of the "undefined" notices in #2.
  3. Why is the URL in #3 as it is?
  4. Does the Readme file need updating?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing you or the module, I'm happy to help refine it and try to make it more broadly usable by others in the Islandora community by testing it this way.

Many thanks,
Peter

Configure this module with 2 seperate lat lon location fields

Hi,
In our sites, we have installed database in solr with 2 seperate Lat and Lon fields.
But this module is required an ONLY Solr field that contains the latitude, longitude coordinate data together. So to make this module work, I need to fix the code to get lat, long data from our 2 seperate fields.
I think it'd be better if you have configuration that let us to setup working with either ONE combined lat, long field
OR 2 serepare lat and long fields

What do you think ?
I can share my fixed code also if you want.
Thanks.
Simon.

Simple typo to fix in islandora_map_browse.module (I think)

John:

I installed your module today, but then when I ran update.php, I got an error message from Drupal that it could not find the file "islandra_map_browse" (note the typo: "islandra"). This typo is in line 188 of the file "islandora_map_browse. module". When I fixed the typo in my module the error went away.

l. 188 $theme_registry['islandora_solr_wrapper']['theme path'] = drupal_get_path('module', 'islandra_map_browse') . '/theme';

Looks like a simple fix is in order.

Thanks,
Peter

Still no pins

Hi John:

Alex Kent's asking about this module on the Islandora Google forum, made me want to try it out again myself before I recommended it to him. So I downloaded and reinstalled it again (2016-03-22) to run on our Islandora (running HEAD) and went through the configuration settings again.

I am still facing several problems with the module and I can't in good conscience recommend it to him (he's a friend of mine) until I confirm form myself that it is working.

Here is a rather disconnected list of problems I'm having. Please take a look at them when you have time to do so. Thank you.

I generated a static map, but "http://sci-dev.dhinitiative.org/browsemap" shows no pins.

The static map (browsemap) states that "There are 21 unique locations with 84 unique items", but none of them show up on the map.

When I click the icon "Display All Search Results on a Map" The watchdog errors shows this "Notice":

Notice: Undefined variable: gen in IslandoraMapBrowse->mapGEOJSONAll() (line 253 of /home/dhiham/public_html/sites/all/modules/islandora_map_browse/includes/IslandoraMapBrowse.inc).

Solr has several indexes holding coordinates in the MODS datastreams of this collection

"mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_s":"24.777339,85.006514",
"mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_mlt":"24.777339,85.006514",
"mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_t":"24.777339,85.006514",
"mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_ms":["24.777339,85.006514"],
"mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_mt":["24.777339,85.006514"],
"mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_ss":"24.777339,85.006514",

Solr returns this for the coordinates:

[mods_subject_cartographics_coordinates_ms] => Array
(
[0] => 24.777339,85.006514
)

Here s a screenshot of my settings page:

"Skip to main content" appears when I open a map

When I've got my search results and click on the folded map icon the map displays. Above the map a "Skip to main content" message appears. That could be something that I've got configured on my system.
